I guess I'm just wore out tonight and need to get
some sleep. Because I reread it and it still makes
no friggin sense, what friggin plot. If it was a plot
to sell me an engine, then yes, he lost.

It´s a ¨down-under¨ language thing Rage. Don´t worry yourself over it

Hmm - you boys still got sour grapes over the con rod thing. That´s a pity. Your all missing out on a sweet motor. Never mind, the rest of the world loves em, so someone else will benefit

No sour grapes here. As most of you know, I own
alot of different engines made by different manufactures.
The next engine I'll be buying is going to be a JL or K10,
which Maximo will mod for me. Then I'm going to wait
to see what the new line of Red Engines that Mugen is
bringing out soon look like. I already own four modded
GO Engines,so I may even end up picking up a Reciprotate
or Alpha engine mid-summer. I see that the prices are getting
to be a factor here in the states. I think that is one reason
why the MG66 isn't getting bought up so fast from the GO
USA dealers. Hell the JL engine sells for only $175 and the
Alpha engines sell for about $200. Both of these engines
are already kickin ars at the tracks, so early in the year
over here. The Tiawanese Engine tsunami is at full force
and it's getting fierce.

Hey, that's great. I love a happy ending
Sounds like you have quite a collection. Yes the Taiwanese motor wave has hit everywhere. Some are a little better quality than others, but I guess at those prices most people don't care if the motor only lasts half a season.
I like a little more value for money and longevity myself though.

Lost the plot = gone crazy - gone mad - out of my mind - lost it...

Basicly something like that.

Is gotech starting to lose it's price point, I really thought that was one of the highlights, great engine for a low price now they seem to be getting around the price of nova's/RB's gotta say my 7 port runs like a BEAST though. but the prices are heading up?

Prices heading up?

I am not sure what you mean by that. The price point of the old Gen motors on Amain was $209.99 The price of the GX line on Amain is $214.99. So you are only looking at a 5 dollar difference, and for that 5 bucks you get

Coated - crank, wrist pin, and carb sleeve, you also get an extra con rod.

Now I dont know about you but I will take all of that for 5 dollars all day long.

I here what your sayin Grizz1. I have GO engines that
have lasted eight gallons and are still running strong
and thats with cast pistons. The new JL engine comes
with a billet piston and a cheap price tag. They all come
with the cheaply made two gallon con rods and bearings.
But what the hell, the rods don't cost much and neither
do TKO ceramic bearings. But then again the stock bearings
that come in the higher-end nitro engines aren't much if
any better. I think the main thing about getting any nitro
engine to last a long time and give less greif is proper break-
in and taking the time to tune the engine propery. Way too
many guys chiming in to all the engine threads wanting to
know the magic carb needle settings for there engines.

Problem with a billet piston is they don't make barstock out of high silicon aluminum that I know of. That is why the Os pistons wear faster and expand more than the Go and other cast pistons.

Rex

Rex machining is your specialty, not mine... So I am not going to pretend I know more then you about metals...However I have to say one of the slowest wearing pistons I have seen is a Picco piston, and its billet... They are an insanely hard alloy that wears much slower then any other piston I have seen.......
