The line where the Venom originated prob started with the Bantam BC-6 charger which iMax copied/cloned. Somewhere I've read posting by someone with them both (iMax and Venom) and took them apart - external differences only, were same inside. I have the manual on the Venom and its the same as my Accucel-6 and the GT Power A-6-10 charger operationally. Seems like same programming across them. There are more copies and clones as well, seems lke a new one every month is popping up somewhere. I can't keep up with them.

I saw the certifications, wonder why Tower doesn't list them on their site; lot use tower tech notes for research and they're usually pretty good. The Dynamite has a list of certifications back close to the last page of its manual, but no UL listing. There is one other charger I forgot as far as AC/DC thats got a good rep -Triton EQ amd Triton 2EQ chargers. Those are From Great Planes and I wonder if they are UL listed?

There are 3 or 4 AC/DC chargers right at $130-140. They must be eating Venoms market share and thats why they've cut price. My choice would be the Dynamite since it has 2x charger output power if I wanted a AC/DC charger. I use a lot of charger power and its not likely going to decrease as more lipos become 2C and higher rated for charging.

Good DC chargers - there are cheap, full featured 50watt Chinese/Asian chargers like the Accucel-6 (50watt) and Accucel-8 (100watt) or the 200watt GT Power A-6-10 chargers. Then there are the high end chargers like Hyperion 0720iNet (350watt) or the iCharger 208B (350watt). There are some true dual chargers like Hyperion Duo3 and Bantam BC8DX. Theres also a German uber expensive Schulze DC chargers that run over $600.

A lot depends on what you want/need to do as far as charging. The cost spectrum runs from $30 to over $600. That Venom power supply gets hot - same deal with the iMax 'laptop' power supply that HobbyCity sells for the Accucel-6.

The "kind of" list it in the title, although they have it listed incorrectly.

"Venom AC/DC Pro Charger U/L Approved"

I found an old 300W computer power supply that I'm going to use to give this charger 12V.

Good luck with the charger.
