Traxxas Slash Chassis??

Hey ive been having a problemb with my 2wd slash's chassis breaking in the same spot , where the rear shock tower mounts to the chassis. ive gone through 3 chassis now, and i was wondering what chasis or part i could get/make to re-inforce it . thanks (by the way i have the vxl system in it if that makes a difference?)

the first time i was just juming small stuff and hit a water pipe...the 2 last times i didnt even jump it... i had just got the pro line suspension upgrade and i was driving it up and down the street. ( a few rolls ) and when the battery was dead i notied it was broken..

by chance, are you guys running the rpm rear skid plate that goes from the chassis to the transmission case? locally people were breaking chassis in the same spot because they switches to the rpm and did not put the extra screw in that goes through the chassis and into the skid. they put the screw in and the problem went away. just a thought for you guys. i ran the pro-line kit and didn't have an issue, but i only ran it for 4 runs before i sold the car.

From past experience, all Traxxas chassis are prone to breaking, so to save money replacing them, I bought a Fastlane Machines aluminum Stampede chassis (which is what the Slash chassis is based off of anyway) and just bolted on the transmission, a-arms, ect. The only problem I found with this conversion was with the side nerf bars - the Traxxas ones don't fit/work. I solved this problem by getting some nerf bars from a Losi Strike and after a little dremel work, they fit perfectly. Now my truck is basically bulletproof.
And BTW - Fastlane Machines also makes an aluminum replacement chassis for the Slash too.
