Fellow RB K9 owners keep a eye on your bearings, I think they are really cheaply made. I ran into some problems last weekend with idle issues. I pulled my flywheel off to find the front rubber bearing seal was prying itself out. I dismantled the engine to also find the bearings felt gummed up and did not spin very freely at all, not gritty just not free. I ordered some Boca Bearing MX ceramic that I will be installing as soon as they arrive. My engine has about 4 gallons on it.
Alot of people replace the bearings for better ones anyway?

i have a question (i bought a used rb c5, from a racer that i know) and (it still needs to be, broken in its pretty tight.)im gone to (run 20% nitro there was no glow plug in, the cooling head.) so i have some (nova #5 plugs, will they fit the rb head?) is that the, right plug for that? percentage of nitro.
The Nova #5 plugs should work just fine in that engine with 20%. Do you know if it is a C5 or a C5BB?? The C5 is older and does not have quite the bottom end power of the C5BB or the C6 or B9. Do you have the box it came with or even the serial number can help determine.

In general 4 gallons for a set of bearings is short for an RB. This is of course with the RB's that are manufactured by Novarossi. The K9 is built and assembled in Taiwan to offer a powerful engine at a great price. IMO in our hobby you generally get what you pay for, while the cheaper Taiwan engines can offer similar performance the quality just isn't quite there.

only thing i really noticed different was the price. looks like a great mill for about $200. at amain it says released over the summer. just seems funny i never notoced nor was there more feedback. almost seems like the $229 tag amain has is a typo

I looked a little closer at the Rally 9 and it looks like it comes with the carb that is on the lower end engines so it's not the really good carb that comes on the B9 or the WS9. The bore and stroke are the same between the B9 and the R9 but they do use different piston/sleeve and a different crank. Most likely the power curve is going to be different and may not be ideal for offroad racing.

If the k9 was italion id be sold. not that good motors cant come out taiwan but i just dont see them pushing 10+ gallons. I run an s5 w/ceramics and turbo button now and still strong at 5+gallons although its time to be in the hunt for a good new rb. I guess im trying to stay as close to 200 as possible. Im looking at getting matching reliable investment mills for spring for bug and trug. The s5 is more my spare or buggy mill and then i run a jpx21 in my truggy at 4 gallons so i dont want to way underpower what im use to at the moment. Really leaning towards either this new picco evo or just another jpx and yeah very possibly just grabbing the k9. Iv seen a couple k9's in person and talked with there owners and they were both very pleased.

its a rb c5 engine thats what it said on the box,im gone to use it on the my truggy. nevermind i talked to him and he, said it was in a old box. its a s5
the rb box says c5 circuit racer but, i looked on the rb website and it said it had 3 ports? doesnt make sense. and the cooling head, is much bigger on the rb engine that i brought from ,a fellow racer . its a rb head.
the model number on the rb box says 1005-c
