Yep Maximo, it's Scrogg from S/C. I had to add the JL21 to my name, appears there is another scrogg lurking around this forum....I see you still have Integra following you around like a good little boy.....J/K guys. Thanks for sharing your input, as always I appreciate it. I got my hands on the engine for the first time today. She's definitely no Picco, still pissed about that. I thought for sure since it was a JL, it would be a Picco based mill like the .28. I'm no fan of Force engines, hope this one changes my mind. The exhaust port is really similar in shape to my A.D. 21, that's why I was thinking/hoping it was another Picco. Overall impression is, it's a good quality engine. Very nicely made, strong internals. Carb is a bit cheasy to me, but I have two Picco and a LRP carb if necessary. Crank needs more work for sure, little heavy IMO. . We'll see when it comes back from modding.
Anyone run it with the 86 pipe yet??
@ Easy Rider, I just let my 2nd JP-3 go in a package deal.....damnit.
I'm stuck with one pipe right now, never been a fan of that pipe's top end characteristic's. It seems to choke out must engine's top end. Many thanks again for your input. I wish I had kept it now that you verified it's worth on the mill.

I saw easyriders run at round one of the ACS and it was really, really fast, and spooled up to high rpm's very quickly..He was clearing large jumps with short run ups with no problems, while others where struggling. It is surely not an engine that is lacking any power..That kind of power on the tiny Hyper 9 was an amazing combo. I cant wait to see it run at The Nitro Pit next weekend

I bolted her on, she fits nice. I've run the "Trinity" Picco's so long.... it was nice to not have to cram a clutch on a block that is offset forward like my old mill. And no more smooth, angled exhaust port....
She definetely needed a good cleaning inside, no major debri but a few small specks of al. Some of the black crank coating in the intake area seemed to wipe off. Kind of like some did not adhere. Bearings where nice and smooth and seem to be good quality. A drop of syn. motor oil in the carb slide took care of the minor gritty feeling. Hopefully I'll have nice weather Saturday to start breakin. I hope my poor old Dynamite quickfire box with 1/2 the wheel left and the hair dryer are up to the task!

Break-in went really smooth for me, used heat gun, it started and ran no problems. I took mine apart and cleaned, sealed, bearings are made in Japan. I really like the carb, frees right up and the o rings are tight, have fun!!

Soory, current stats, temp? I use spit boil method, probably 250? Pipe jp-3, make nasty power and runs 9 mins to be safe call, I really think It can go 10, havent tried or timed it yet, but has 1/4 tank after 7 min Q

Temp means nothing to me, i have never seen anyone tune properly by temps ... With the spit test I can tell if I am in the proper window or if i am overheating by the rate the spit sizzles off..... I rarely worry about temps in my engines, I only really monitor them during breakin.....
