Most ppl beside USA were using 48P because they run MOD and outdoor...48P gives you a better chance NOT to have little rock to jam into the bigger pitch.
US use 64P cause they vacuum the carpet (afterall, it is carpet LOL) and they want the best acceleration of the car, thats why they use 64P for a tad of more "punch". And yes, 64P gives you a finer gearing ratio compare to 48P but if you want concern about performance gain, there are NONE or at least, you cannot tell the different.
With 17.5, GT2 speedo...make sure get the 312a software, DRRS to #8, Timing to #7, motor timing to 10*, then gear to around 4.8~5.0. At least, I would start it that way....

Adam, appologies if you have answered this before (I did look around first). I'm running the GT 2.0 in my XXXT-CR with a 17.5 brushless. What software version do you recommend for this off-road application? Thanks. BTW the software it came with is doing great, but if it can do better....

hi, anybody experienced the timing of their v3 motor to loosen up? mine's loose already considering i unscrew the 3 screws before adjusting the timing. now it moves by itself even if the screws are tight. is this a mfg defect or what? any remedy?

If your really worrid about it, I see SP do offer a +10° locked end plate, and given thats where I'm running my motors, I'm quite tempted.

I wouldn't worry about it, I can happily move my timing rings by hand, without needing to undo the screws. It's why the silicone is there, as the two pads don't slide over each other without a little bit of force. Quite clever imo

Oh yeah, to actually answer your question the 205G is a GREAT s/w for offroad, I think for right now you are already running one of the best out there
