I think you will be alright Mark. If you like the aluminum shoes get some long wears in the future. I mix em up with carbons, I get 4 or 5 race days on a set of shoes before I replace them. I can relate on the bog, when I started 1/8 about 5 yes ago I had a RB WS7II that I had a Fioroni sliding clutch on with Teflon shoes. It was fine for warm up then halfway thru the heat race I would get a bog in the infield but would clear out on the straight. We found the clutch to be the problem.

Here is the list of the spring rates:
LOSA5456 - 15mm springs 3.1 x 2.5" Rate Red
LOSA5457 - 15mm springs 3.1 x 2.8" Rate Silver
LOSA5458 - 15mm springs 3.1 x 3.1" Rate Green
LOSA5459 - 15mm springs 3.1 x 3.4" Rate Black
LOSA5460 - 15mm springs 3.7 x 3.7" Rate White
LOSA5460 - 15mm springs 3.7 x 4.0" Rate Grey
LOSA5462 - 15mm springs 3.7 x 4.3" Rate Purple
Looks like using the purple is the only option to go harder. I might try that this weekend and see what happens.

These new dynamite engines are a great alternative in spending less money for a good mill.

I persnally have bcome almost addicted to the os speed engines they are pricy but very very good engines. In the 200 range the weeks b5 is a great engine. A guy at my local tracks is getting great runtime with the B5 and a trinity bad boy pipe. You can't go wrong with the vspec engine either it's inthat range. If you want to spend a little more the new ninja bo1a is an awesome engine. It's almost a speed engine just less money. I would stay away from the reedy engine it is hard to tune and loves to run very hot or not at all. I hope that helps that's what I have seen do well at my local tracks.

Thanks Frank. I have really been looking at the B5. Sifting through it's thread for a few hours the past few days, it really seems to be a good motor. Plus you get customer support right on here pretty much. But it is currently out of stock....
Edit: What kind of run times and performance are you guys getting out of your stock losi 454 motor?

Man thanks again Frank. I am going to probably take you up on that in the next week or so. This axial .32 I threw in here to hold me over is just not going to cut it at all for racing. Anyone wanna buy it??
I am still curious how the losi 454 works though. You can get them real cheap and then I wonder how well it would do modded for run time.... I could possibly get multiples of that motor and set each up differently. Just thinkin big picture
Thanks

No the springs are taller in the back, hence the 3.1 vs 3.7 in the chart posted.

My gripe about overpowering the truck is the wear and tear is put's the drive train through....its brutal compared to a race .21 Pins last 3-4X as long diff's dont need to be serviced as much...overall its less maintenance.....ive been there and Done that with High HP .28's....no thx.
question for ya reg...ninja being a .28 ? why the silver on comp's....the motor (if .28) has More then enough power to pull a way lighter spring and give you alot more life.
