All E RC has the 1210 on sale for $85 (180watts, 10amps) -

If you use the Hyperion LBA10 balancer, you can monitor cell voltages on the 1210 charger, they were designed to work together.

I use an optima 12v car battery as a power supply. Never fails. Even though my 0606i is AC/DC I usually hook it up to my battery because track power is pretty sketchy. I plug a small battery tender style charger to the optima and plug that charger in to keep the 12v optima car battery charged (if needed).

And it’s always good for a few laughs, quite the Rube Goldberg set up.

+ on the Hyperion 606 for 1/10 scale. I’ve got the little DC only one, nice and small. Finishes the CV portion faster than anything I’ve tried. Need to grab another one.

bit of a thread jack..
I have the Hyperion EOS 6061i ac/dc charger... Read the manual, hooked up a 5000mah 2S Zippy and off I went. Charging at 5.0 amps..It was done when I got home.
Today I tried it on my mini battery. 1600mah 3S zippy... Its been hours since it started. The charger says it is charging at .16 amps.
Shouldn't it be 1.6 amps?????
I thought I went through the menus right...Is it seeing something wrong with my battery or something?
Thanks
Tony

BAD idea! Second, how many hours?? It's a normal part of the charging to see .16amps on some packs as it's almost full but on a pack that small it should have terminated the charge within an hour I'd guess ( I have a 610inet)Read your post again..did you set the mah for the pack to 1600 or did you put in 160 by mistake as that would take forever and set the charge rate at .16 amps automaticaly.

First you left your lipo charging unattended

I did have it set at 1600 though. And it did take hours. In fact when I left for work it was still going. No 'battery charged' or anything like that.
I am going to run that sucker down again and attempt it once more

With some zippys, cells get way out of balance, especially with a deep disch and depending on your balancer, it can take hours and hours to get them back in balance and charged. Ck cell voltages with a dvm using the balance tap and see how far apart they are before charging. My Neus rarely get more than 3-7mv apart (.003 - .007v) and if I don't pull a lot of mah out they usually won't show any diff.
And BTW, its at the 1.6amp rate now!

I take it back... its down to like 20ma rate now.....and its been forever. God I hope this charger is ok and its a one time thing with this battery....

Well last night it was just a PITA. Today I ran it down and tried to charge it. Iit said one cell was way out. Tried it twice...same result. Third time it acted normally..Maybe I should let it cool down 15 minutes before charging.

I understand bad things happen to Lipos. But I dont have the kind of life where I can watch grass grow. If I wanted to be there the whole charge cycle I would have bought a treadmill or generator for my bike

I understand that you might not want to or don't have the time to sit around watching grass grow or babysitting your lipos while they are charging...but I would definitely recommend using some sort of lipo sack or other fire resistant container while charging (maybe you already are using one.) Better safe than sorry.
