Can someone tell me the bearing size for this engine? I need to replace mine and I know it's been posted, but I couldn't find it a few pages back and I don't feel like reading this whole thread again.

I really liked the TT2039 this weekend. Woke up the top and mileage didn't go down. It's a little shorter than the 2035 and similar shape.

Closest I can get with the supplied shims is .55 mm that should be good.

Default reedy 121 vr dissapiontment

this engine may seem awesome for its price although if your coming from another engine like OS, GRP, NOVA do not buy this engine as it is slow as.
i have tried everything from gearing it up to leaning, richening and retuneing but still the slowest thing i have ever used. im going to novarossi plus 4 now because i now know that the reedy is a heap of crap and nova would run rings around it because the nova is as quick or quicker than a os speed with a 6mmm restrictor and speed had an 8mm.

this is from past experience and nothing but the truth so theres the heads up guys

Yea, I can partly agree on that.. I have only ever run O.S V-Spec and Speed's and after needing a cheaper engine to keep me going for a month. I grabed a hardly used speed... and I knew top end wasnt fantastic, but Its not got alor of top end in m view coming from the speed.. it feels like its a 60% throttle.. to be fair I knew it didnt have the top speed on the speeds, plus 4's ect.. but I was very surprised at alot less it had.. but to me it should be fine. As Im not yet a very big travel racer so its fine for my local track.. but I dont think I will be getting one again.. tbh.. Prefer to get a V-Spec.. which is cheaper.. and probally faster lol-Not sure on that.. but probally close tbh.. and it didnt seem to me to be very linear.. aswell.. very punchy.. but it will suits some people's needs tbh.. -I have heard on the grape vine-SOME of the top drivers running Reedy Actually stick in Speed internals and use reedy case and head.. not sure how true or not this is.. So it gets branded as a Reedy.. but is techniqually a O.S..... My view

Wish I could say different, but I have gotten the same feeling. Especially with the temps that you have to get these engines up to, I still don't feel the top end of an O.S. or Nova. Like Jamie said it feels like your only using about %60-%70 throttle all the time. I'm planning on doing some more tuning on it this weekend, but at this point I don't feel comfortable running it at bigger events.

If all of you guys are saying this motor feels like 60-70% and Maifield, Mitch, and other associated drivers are winning with it. Then I would hate to see them with a 100% motor.

Seriously though, people bash companies to much on the Internet. There is no need for 3 responses back2back saying the exact same thing, which is false. I have seen these, and ran a few. It doesn't seem as fast because it is smoother, and not as snappy. I personally saw a Reedy .21, Nova +4, OS Speed nose to tail down a 90-110ft front stretch, and they didn't seperate.

If you can not get this great fairly cheap motor to hang with novas and os', then maybe you should ask for break-in assistance or tuning assistance on your next mil.

I totally agree with you, the window for tuning is really sensitive. An OS motor is so easy to tune it takes some skill coming over to the Reedy. I was an OS motor guy before coming to the Reedy and it was a challenge at first. After spending 3 straight days with playing with needles, pipes, plugs I have felt the motor really wake up. After getting to know the little guy I could never go back now. The power is extremely smooth and even running hotter than normal the internals sure do look damn good! I have 6 gallons on mine and its just getting better and better.

Are you 100% sure they are running the stock consumer version (mass production)? With the street price of $249.

Just curious.

As far as I know JR Mitch doesn't run modded motors. Maifield im not, but the ones I have driven and seen hang with the powerhouses were 100% mass production reedy .21's.

I'm not saying it's a bad engine. I only have 1gallon through mine if that, with only one good race day on it. And believe me I know I'm no engine tuning guru, so for now I just need to keep tweeking. I've seen these mills fly just like you described Euro, but I do know the ones I saw were preproduction as well.

I have a team driver in my area that's been running the reedy's since the preproduction's. He has also stated that the new production mills seem to lack a little until you get a few gallons on them.

The Reedy isnt a bad engine when its PROPERLY modified. But honestly in stock form i wasnt impressed AT ALL. Falls very flat up the high end and makes for an uneven feel, for me anyways....
