Ron, see of you can make a pipe header that will fit a bit better in the MBX6. That 2013 was tuff to stuff into the buggy.
could always try a better buggy
just kidding Scott... I believe Mugen made a manifold to fit their car cause its so narrow didnt they??? I remember Gus talking about having to put it on his JP pipes......

I'll just run the same set up as usual. 2 1.0's 1 1.1
I dont know if he has but I went to the track yesterday to do some good running with the bigboy pipe and I LOVE IT!!!!!
super smooth yet tons of power....ran the motor at between 230 and 238 for 5 consecutive tanks...
started timing them on the third tank
1st run went 11 minutes then pulled it off when it started to get lean
2nd tank went 1120 before it started to get lean
3rd tank screw it I ran it out of fuel at 1155....
I dont like to run it out of fuel but had to test my gas tank mods I did due to my last issue...
I race in the midwest area and I was running it a tick fat just due to not wanting to mess anything up, for me this motor and pipe will go 12 easy when its all said and done..
doesnt quite have to super cool sound of the 2013 but it still doesnt sound like most pipes..

and when it was all over I went back the GRP pipe, thats the pipe I settled on before getting the bigboy pipe and I can still say that this pipe wasnt bad either, runtime was 940 on teh only timed run I did but an unbelievable amount of power, actually a little too much, it wasnt all usable power..
so I still havent got to do a good test with the 2013 but if you guys are looking for a pipe the bigboy should be on the list....

Hey Ron,

Where does the 2057 fall in the power range of the Werks/Sirio pipes? Top, bottom...? In your experience what could a person expect from a 2057? Not necessarily just on the B5, on any Star based mill...

fastraxx,Roadrunner,TCRC,Medina,Stateline,McCullou ghs,Browns,FullThrottle,
some track in MI,Leisure Hours,Sunrise r/c,Classic and Im sure a few others..lol its been a busy summer, But that test was at roadrunners...Its got a big straightaway and the dirt is loose so runtime usually suffers..
in the winter I run at CRCRC adn I cant wait fro that place to open

Good, sounds like you were being safe which is always the right thing to do. Regarding coming back south I noticed that you are from Louisiana, not sure when I'll make it back down there but have to say that when I attended the Futuaba race down there a couple of years ago I had an absolute blast. Some of the friendliest people that I have ever met down there, still remember the guy cooking up the shrimp etoufe (sp) at the track and inviting me and Mike B over for dinner! Good times!!!

Mo, thanks for the detailed testing results on that pipe. I'll pull some in next month and have Kortz run them also down in SoCal so that we can have some comparative info and post it on here for everyone.

scoobie1, you know I tested the 2057 quite a while ago with the B7-Pro and we felt that it softened the bottom too much so I decided to pass on offering it. The B5 is obviously a completely different animal with a lot more bottom end than the B7-Pro engine so it might be a good fit. This is another pipe that I need to pull in some more of and re-test with the new mill.

Regarding how it works with other Sirio mills this is a good question and probably not one that I'm going to be able to answer effectively. For the most part the only similarity between our engines and the Sirio engines is the carburetor and the fact that they are both manufactured for us by the same company in Italy. If you are running one of the Sirio engines your best bet would be to check on the Sirio thread. Also keep in mind that whatever information that you get , the performance of the pipe is going to be highly dependent on the power band of the specific engine model that you are using. So... make sure that you ask specifically about the one that you are running.

Regards,

Ron Hopkins

I don't know if the mugen header would match-up to the springs holes. I guess I could drill whatever spring holes I needed. The key is the 80cm width to fit it in the buggy. If you try and bend it too much the joints are at angles and either don't seal well or wear the gaskets quickly.

I have the 2013 pipe on the engine now and a Big-Boy pipe on the way. Unlike MO and other lucky racers I don't have a track close enough to test at during the week but hopefully next weekend I can try both pipes back to back and give some feedback.

Oakhill this weekend, Full Throttle/ Marietta the 5th, Race Against Cancer the 12-13th, and back to Full Throttle the 19th. B5 in the buggy for each race. Thats the plan right now. I should get enough fuel through it this weekend that it will be ok for the 5th and even better for the RAC.
