Mine both took about 3/4 galon for the metal pinch to loosin up. AT a gallon there was just a bit of metal pinch left , but a lot of compression.Got about 5 gallons on each of them now and still have good compression

thanks for the reply heidman1, I thought I read that it took only half gallon on here. 3/4th of a gallon is not that bad. I bought this engine because of the half gallon break in so less stress on connecting rod, not to mention the awesome feedback

Hey Ron, I just ordered another B5 and Werks 2013 (Backordered) pipe from Amain. Thanks for being there for us!

I just got my 2 Werks B5's today from Amain and man they look NICE, can't wait to hear it.

Ron: That really stinks about the fuel I was hoping you would be able to point me in the right direction. I would rather not order online, could you tell me what would be the best choice fuel to run next to yours. I can get Odonell and Byrons since that is mostly the choice of fuel in m area.

toughtrax, glad that you got your motors in and thank you also for running our stuff! Regarding the fuels as long as you stick with any of the mainstream manufacturers I can comfortably say that there are really no bad fuels on the market. What there are is different fuels that have different performance characteristics and/or advantages. I can honestly say that neither of the two that you mentioned will give the same amount of run time nor have similar spool times as our fuel (meaning how quick the engine accelerates or spools up).

I've spent a lot of time with lubricants and fuel testing and this is an area where significant performance advantages can be achieved if people take the time to test and optimize their engines for the type of fuel that they are running. When doing so the differences in fuels becomes extremely evident! Having said that though doing so does start to get a little technical lol and is probably outside of the scope of the average reader on a forum like this. So...frankly it's kinda up to you as to which brand you prefer to go with. I know it's not really a direct answer as to which to go with but hope this helps a bit.

Regards,

Ron

Thanks for the reply Ron, and it did help a bit. Being just an average racer I don't think that I could benefit from such thing that a pro would such as spool time but being an average racer I do still look for the run time and running the best quality products that I can within my budget.

How would someone go about having a local hobby shop set up to order fuel through you?

Toughtrax: Just to let you know alls Ive ever ran in either of my B5s is Odonnells. Ive never had a problem. Spools up just as fast as any of them, and Im getting 12 min run times. Alls Ive ever used for plugs in my B5s are Odonnells. As Ron said any top shelf fuel will work fine. Alot of the guys I run with use the byrons also. Lot them run Werks also. Basically its what you can get when you can get it. Just make sure its 30% and you should be fine.
