Default FYI...S100....best cleaner!!!

I know this is a bit off topic but I ran my 8T 2.0 yesterday for a few hours on the track and it was covered with dirt/nitro...filthy! I tried the S100 spray foam cleaner and have to say...IT WORKS GREAT!!! I didn't need to scrub anything...just spray the foam on and let it sit for a few seconds and then rinse it off (Removed the radio tray first..of course!). Hit is with air compressor to remove the water and I was done....less than 10mins total clean time. No residue or staining, plus no fumes like other nitro cleaners. This stuff is great!!! It comes in a large can that should last you a long time. You should be able to find it at any Harley dealer or motorcycle shop. I'll be buying more soon!

i try to avoid putting any kind of liquid cleaners on my cars. id rather spend the time to pull it down and brush it all off.
when you put a liquid on it pushes grit into all the ball ends bearings and hingepins which wears them quickly
the only time i do use a liquid is when i pull it down completely and pull off all the ballends and hingepins
then i just use a bucket of hot water and some simple green

Default 8T 2.0

First of all I want to thank all you guys for the info. i have read every page starting with page 50.

I bought the race roller 2 weeks ago and ran my second race with it today and have a couple issues i need some help with.

I have it converted to elec with the Losi conversion kit, Tekin RX 8 and 2250 truggy motor. I run a 4 cell lipo in it.

Our tracks are dry and slippery. I have been having issues with rear grip from the center off in the corners. I tried the softer springs and shorter camberlinks with the rear hubs all the way forward. It seemed worse. i then put the gray springs back on and layed then all the way down on the tower and it seemed better, so I went to the purple springs and it was better again. My last adjustment was to run the "NO" rear sway bar and it finally picked up a slight push. I have the box stock tires, stock front set up and
stock rear oil. the front diff is 7K, smart diff center with (4) .25 springs, and 2K in the rear.

My questions are why did I get more side bite with the stiffer rear spring ? I'm also curious as to how many guys run the stock tires on a loose track?
What would your tire recommendations be ?

thanks

Mike

First is to run the correct tire for the track. Sometimes the stock tires work, sometimes not. Ask or look around to see what other racers are running at your track.

The reason it got better with the stiffer springs is the rear stopped dumping over. Thats what makes these 4 wheel cars turn. The more they lay down on the rear in the corners, on-power, the looser(less rear grip-side-bite) they have.
You may want to leave those springs on and put those other adjustments back to where they were. You don't want to get too lost on all adjustments from standard settings. Especially if they didn't help.

Oh yea, since you have a electric set-up. It is probably heavier then the gas set-up. Which they usually are by around a pound depending on battery size. So consider that in your set-ups. The truck set-ups are for gas and thier weight.

Good luck. Hope this helps.

+1 on the tires. The truck setup could be off and if the tires are right then you can still do ok. I love the new caliber tires from proline.

Ok i'll try the standard settings with the stiffer springs .

Is it ok to run the 2.0 (softer) sway bar with the stiffer springs, or do the stiffer springs defeat the purpose ?

Most guys here all run the caliber tires too. I'll get a set and try them.

Frank L, I know you run smart diff's too. i used 4 .25 springs to try and get it torelease sooner going into the corner and roll more through the corner..like the nitro set ups do.

thanks for the help guys.
