ok. i have to ask this. How does the ninja compare to the speed. Unbiased opinions please. I know the ninja has the same coated crank but is it silicone filled as well. I would get a tko ceramic bearing as well.

ssoooo what are the differences and which one is better.

I am going to buy one of thease.

Price wise the JX is a better deal IMO. The JX has a filled crank but it is not lightened like the speed, which seems to give it a very similar feel on bottom. The JX not hacing the double tungstun weight added spools up quicker and bottom seems a bit more responsive. TKO's are great in the JX, and even with those added it's still less than the speed, hell.... modded it's less than the speed.

You will be blown away by the JX and the money you save will make you smile. If you are going from a Speed to a JX you will still be happy and the $$$ will be nice. I ran mine for a gallon then put in TKO's and the EB mod button and it flat out flies. I bought the 6mm carb insert from the 8mm to tame it and it still hauls the trash.

truth of the matter is, both are capable of putting you into victory ln, the topend on both are very impressive, yes the 5 port vs 3 shows, but i like the JX because it does act more snappy on bottom, i like that for truggy and 1/8 latemodel.

doesn't that contradict? shouldn't the speed have better bottom with the 3 ports? and how does the 5 vs 3 show? sorry if this seems like stupid questions.

i believe the crank not being counterweighted makes the ninja feel stronger on the bottom, i have ran both engines, i prefer the ninja over the speed

the rotating mass and the weight slows down the speed of the rotation, makes it smoother, and higher timing gets the topend going.

I have the PTM Ninja and run against speeds every week. Trust me, I'd much rather have the jx then a speed myself. It's got great snap on bottom, but doesn't seem to give up anything on top- at least at my track. Over 4 gallons on this one and it's strong as ever. Probably the best motor I've ever owned.

better case design too. No cracking like the v-spec and speed.. that and the DLC coating is my two favorite things... other then that,, they're all close in comparison as far as power.
