I think the biggest downfall for the Savage is stock wheels / tires. They just look so boring, so I thought I would post some pics.

Show me a revo that looks like that

Beerz I order all my stuff online because my LHS is way overpriced and does 0 discount.

I don't know about Canadian sites, I just try to find the online store that has the most of what I want or didn't know I wanted . I like to fit a lot of things into one shipment.

For you I suggest a site that has the Nitro Truck you want, all the batteries you need and any other 'goodies' you might want for your truck. Wheels? Tires? maybe some Spares because you'll be breaking lots (A-Arms, Steering knuckles, Hubs, Shocks). You'll want some spare glow plugs, and Spur Gears too.

Pretty much welcome to the world of Nitro. Plain and simple the POWER to WEIGHT ratio is INSANE

If you're still trying to decide I'd say your best options are

1. Revo 3.3 rtr (1:10)
2. Savage X rtr (1:8)

I was able to talk to my hobby guy today, he said towerhobbies will have in stock on 8/5/09 it will be about $540 on tower and he will be able to sell it for about $515 give or take a few bucks. It doesn't hurt to start your reading now, i had a full race book with setups, modds, etc. before i even ran mine. I had the 5308 revo for about two months before i ran it doing modifications to iget it setup just the way i wanted it.

Alright cool so ill be looking at about 600. On a different note I was reading a post on the Traxxas form saying the 5308 is still better tehn the new 5309 but I dont know if they were just saying that or not.

Well my opoin is the 5309 is geared towards a beginner or a basher. It has dual stearing water proof servos, reverse , Traxxas 2.4 radio system but it still has all of the upgrades the 5308 has except for the smaller reciever box do to having reverse which reqiures more room in the reciever box for a servo and a optiy drive system. Most guys that want to race the revo already have their own 2.4 system and most convert it to a single stearing servo setup.
With the truck, fuel and AAs, $600 would a get estime pending on shipping and price of the truck and fuel.

Reverse did nothing but annoy me with my old tmaxx because it was a pain to get it to engage correctly but im sure that technology has been improved on a bit. Anyways if your in a hurry to get the truck go for it. Doesnt seem like there is going to be too many differences between the two plus you can always add some personal upgrades to it to make it what you want. Either way you go, if you dont give up, your gonna have fun. Nitro is a little bit of a pain but if you try you will learn it all and enjoy it.
