Well put another 2 thanks through it today. Engine is definately starting to pick up. This thing is gonna be a monster I need to find some where to start running it in properly. coz out the front isn't gonna be suitable once i get some throttle into it

And i need to paint the body so i can put it on and stop crap from landing in the chassis...... god i suck at painting shells.

Got another tank through the 5port yesterday, using the heat cycle method off the other RC tech forum.I have approx 40mins total run time with cooldown periods between each run.
Using this method, can I start to lean out slightly(keeping eye on temp). This seems so much quicker run in than the old school method and I don`t want to screw up the new mill
I will head out to the track(weather permitting)to have a bit more room and I have probably pissed off the neighbours enough

What method is that you are refering to Ben ?

40 mins - say 6 or 7 tanks for a tight GO isn't much. I would be looking at running rich with good temps - at least 105 C (foil head if neccessary) for around 12 tanks. Then just leaning it a little bit (1/16 - 1/8) for a couple of tanks, then a little more for another couple of tanks. Put a mild race tune it at 20 tanks. Once you can turn the motor over in the buggy from underneath while it's hot, then remove the break in shim and put a proper race tune on it.
Might seem a bit long winded, but your motor will love you for the easy, rich, hot break in later in it's life.

I run lipo for my receiver but nimh for starter box.. You really should be charging that style battery up when your on your way to track or even at the track as nimh gradually lose charge when sitting there not in use.. Where as lipo hold the same charge for weeks to months at a time.. I love lipo... I run the whole day on the one lipo without even charging it.. and when i put back on charger for next time it has only lost 800mah.. They are awesome.
