just my thought on lipos here i like them but only with servos that can run 7.4 volts all to many times faliure on regulators i just dont think they can handle the punishment on 1/8 racing .... JR make these servos pretty pricy and hitec are meant to be releasing in august 7.4 v servos so i have been told from hitec any way

i went through 3 regulators in 1 day and almost 3 cars too but they manage to survive poor poor marshal

grizz the break in method is in the nitro off road section its called the break in bible ...... its a good read ...

i agree with you but not to lean with only 6-7 tanks but

I have been running the hitec servos hs5985 for nearly a whole year now with lipo and NO regulator and the servos have not missed a beat.. But agree that some servos do need a regultor.

i have 3 receiver packs that i use, 1 does my warm up and practice whilst i top up the 2nd batt then i swap for the 1st heat and top up my 3rd batt and just keep swapping over as i feel i need to so i have maximum charge!

as far as i know i can run lipo straight into my DX3R receiver and ACE 1015 servo's with no regulator?

is that correct???

NO!!!!!!!!!!!! they are coming out with ones that you can do that with. But without the regulator you will burn out the servo's

Well as i run crystals instead of 2.4g ,when i use a regulator it plays havoc with my reception to the point that i only have 3 mtrs then the servos just go nuts,but when i took the reg out i had no dramas,but thats with hitec servos.. I would run a reg if i could but it seems i dont need to as i havent for the last year without any issues.

I wouldnt know with ace servos ,but whats the harm in running a reg anyway.. Just about every 2nd car out there now runs lipo.

interesting i havnt been game trying to do this with no reg i have the hitech tg 7955 i think maybe i these might run 7.4 to with out a reg ? might give it a shot

well i thought i would upload those better pics i took. As i forgot to do them the other day.

With the exception of the servo screw issue. There was only 1 other thing i was a little bit disappointed about in terms of the RC8B Kit.

The front and rear chassis braces are plastic...... i was expecting aluminium/steel braces, not quite sure why they did this? Other than that the kit is awesome, and will be very easy to strip and clean.

The box at the front of the radio tray is there new front battery box, which houses my 1600mah Intellect Hump pack, from what i could tell just by holding the radio tray it did put a lot more weight towards the front rather than having it all at the back of the tray.

The plastic chassis braces are becoming common now. My X-Ray is the same. The reason they give is that it allows the chassis to flex just a little, which is part of the way the modern light weight buggies get their good handling characteristics. X-Ray make alloy braces for those that want them, but I have heard on the forums that they make the cars too rigid and they become a little skitterish with the handling suffering as a result. Most of the guys went back to the plastic braces (which are pretty strong anyway). If you break one of those you will probably have a lot more serious bits broken to worry about Buggy looks good bro

mate your car looks good leave your plastic chassi braces in dont upgrade them unless you race on grass thats about thge only time you will need to stiffen the car up

matt i definately wasn't going to upgrade them... spent to much $$$$ as it is i was just curious as to why they where plastic, and grizz did a good job explaining that and it does make sense. I didnt think AE would put all that time into developing such an awesome car and then throw cheap parts at it for the sake of a few bucks, was just used to seeing the steel ones thats all.

Not gonna get a chance to put any more tanks through it today, got a heap to do hopefully monday and/or tuesday i will get a chance to get a heap of run time in. Can't wait till its track ready Not looking forward to that first crash/flip.

ahhh yes the first crash and scratch on the cooling head

i used to race the old rc8 and i bought the plastic braces for the car then the new one certainly is far better car than the old

Well i emailed AE in regards to the radio tray issue last week. Came home from work this morning to a reply from AE. They said to supply them with the part number, and they will replace it under warranty.

Now thats the sort of customer service you like to see from a company
