I agree. They do wear out the toe blocks (or if you have the Adj. ones, the inserts) faster that way, but they will never wear the arms out. I would rather change retainer inserts than arms frequently. Just my take on the so called binding issues.

thats why i just ppolished them not to make them perfect i guess but to elimnate any sought of bind that may affect a long race

your correct what you say it is cheaper buying inserts rather than arms but the rear arms dont wear any faster by trying to make the pin slide through easier.

Making the pin slide through easier or rotate in the arm easier WILL make the arm wear faster. If the pin is rotating in the arm while running, the arm will wear. If it is rotating in the inserts, the inserts will wear. Something has to wear. I prefer it to be the inserts, as they should be changed regularly anyway. As you said they are also lots cheaper than arms are.

Well on my truck I run the fioroni hinge pin braces and they are not cheaper then the arms. I have had the truck since it was released and I race 2-3 weekends per month, the option parts were installed from the beginning and the fioroni hinge pin braces have not wore out or developed and slop. I believe that you get what you pay for.

Well I did all the fixes and followed you guys with this for a long time Frankl and Integra and others but I am now selling mine.. I got bit by the brushless bug LOL Thanks for all your help everyone when I had issues or needed to find better ways to fix things. They are the sweetest truggies on the market but I want to try something else for awhile.. If I could afford to go BL in it I would keep it and do that but I don't have the money for it so it's gotta go.. I still got my buddies BL 8ight t 2.0 sitting here so I can run it ..

I have been out of rc for about a year and raced both buggy and truggy and want to get back in and looking to just race truggy. Can anyone give me a unbias pick on the mbx 6t vs the losi 2.0 truggy. coming from running a strr truck and rc 8 buggy.

Anythng will be a great improvement over the K truck. I went from a str to a losi 8t 1.0 mstly because I was tired of the str always being broken and the parts were difficult to get. Another factor was my LHS owner made me a smoking deal on the 8. I loved the losi from the beginning and I now have a 2.0. The truck and buggy can take the same started box and they have alot of parts in common. I love my 2.0. Mugen has been in the 1/8 scene for a long tim. They make very high quality cars. It is interesting to me how much the mbx6t and the 8t 2.0 share in common. Their bodies have similar lines the f/r ride heights are exactly the same handling seems to be similar and I am sure I have missed something. Either losi or mugen will treat you right.

If you want un-biased it won't be in this thread...lol.

i used to race the mugan but had to try the losi and never really have looked back ... frank is rite about the mbx6t these two truggies are great it would be a personel thing i would go losi .... but the mbx6t is nice truggy to drive

I have looked at the MBX6-T and it resembles the RC8T to me. The wheelbase on the RC8T with the hub back is 375 just like the mugen. Also the rest of the physical size appears the same even the chassis look similar. The only thing that separates them is the diff fluids and ride height.

I too switched from kyosho to the losi and will never go back. Got so tired of always shimming diffs and also had some issues with front arms-i have not driven the mugen but I have seen a couple arms break, they look good. I do have a good buddy that has driven my truck and took a few laps with the mugen and said they drive close to the same. Seems to me the biggest difference would be the losi hubs compared to the pillow ball mugen setup-which one suits your style better. Also withthe losi parts are gonna be in abundance
I see the ocm in your avatar. Alan burton is the one that got me to try the losi and it has been great!!! I am so much faster and consistent with the losi truck

quick question can some one educate me on why the losi runs a 0 offset and the old one ran a 1/2 offset. and what is the difference of them both i am not sure what it means and what the difference in them are( offsets) . any info would be great thanks again rctech!

losi went to longer a arms so do offset this they went to 0 off set wheels, because roar has limits on length and width and truggys are pretty close to this.and also almost all companys go with 0 offset wheels anyway

the arms are shoter on the 8t so they had to put 1/2 off set wheels on it to compensate

on the 8t 2.0 the arms are longer so the run 0 off set wheels to compensate

so the offset just make the truck wide which i assume makes it handle better? is that the reason for offsets? so if i run 1/2 offsets my truck should handle a little better since its wider? well maybe not handle better but be more stable?
