What kind of "clan" is it? You out in east county?

Mines' been sitting. I got an eletcrtic 4WD buggy that I'm really in to right now. No one is racing these in my area. Well, they are but I need to bring 5 people with me that have one and want to race and they will create a class for us. I asked and they wont let me race with the truggies.

I had it up for sale but no one wanted it. Its just sitting in my garage now. If any one wants it let me know and I'll cut you a deal. $325 shipped with no radio or reciever. It has all teh Ft options and a new Hyper .28 in it. Teh body is a bit beat though.

I sold my Slash so I might convert itto electric and let myson drive it on 2s power.

I PMed you back. I dont have time for this hobby any more and defenitly dont have time to take up another one. But I'm not hurting to sell it so if you can come up with $300 I'll bring it down there next time I'm in town

I ran with the 16 for a gallon or so and had no problems. I then switched to a 17 and you can still slide the engine all the way over but the mesh is much better.

Anyone have any setup sheets for different types of tracks they would like to share? I'll have to try to get my setup posted a little later.

First adjustment.

In taking out and practicing today, I moved the shocks to the outer hole for the lower connection point. I felt the truck handled a little better and wasn't as squirrelly.

I'm going with the diff fluid changes next. Then the 17t clutch bell, and then the shocks.

Question.

Are shocks completely proprietary or can I use a different companies' shocks? Why? If someone makes a "better" shock than the TA FT, could that be an option?

Second is a little problem I am having. The truck will start, and idle, but when I try to go, it stalls. I've got to keep the glow starter in it. It does this until it heats up to about 140* +/-. Once it gets going and heats up, it runs great. EOT temperature is right under 240*. I am running Odonnell (red dot) glow plugs and have a feeling this is the culprit. I'm not looking to start up and go full throttle but it's taking me about a 1/4 tank to warm up.

Thanks for your help.

Well I certainally am not a tuning guru but I would think you might be a little fat on the low end if it's stalling out. If you do lean it out a little be sure to recheck your top end after you adjust. As for shocks I would think anything thats very close in length would work just make sure there is no binding of the suspension and steering in all positions.

You'll have to read through this thread http://www.aeforums.co.uk/forum/inde...showtopic=1813 theres a couple pics and parts list.
It's pretty easy, but let me know if you have any questions.

Hello all, I noticed a bit of talk about shocks with the SC8. Has anyone tried any different types or just running the stock? I ran in club races yesterday and blew out that awful little spring clip 3 times! I want to find a set with end caps, maybe some big bores. I realize I can buy some Associated ones but was hoping for something a little less expensive!
By the way, I noticed one person mentioned they run with the truggys. how does that work out for you? I run mine with the buggys as we are a small club and I have the only SC8. Took 2nd yesterday, so I was pretty happy with her!
Thanks in advance for any help.

If you watch ebay you can usually find some ft threaded shocks for the rc8 that will work great. I picked up a brand new full set for $30 Or you can go with the big bores I think some people are using the jammin big bores but i'm not sure about those you'll have to look into that further.
