I Had an Excellent result on the weekend at the Harris RC Classic in Bendigo VIC.

There was two full heats of stock and as far as I'm aware I was the only person to run brushed in the A Final.

I TQ'd and won the stock class and managed to also set the fastest lap and race times.

There were 3 finals and all finals counted, the PHI ran fantastic and did not let me down once over the whole weekend. The car was fast and excellent on its tires across every race in hot conditions.

Can't wait for the new car

I have had a couple of people PM me asking on my set up,

I ran exactly the same as Ari's Summernats 09 set up but with the below changes:

Springs - Front 22lbs , Rear 19lbs

No sway bars front or rear

Standard kit hexes and hubs front and rear

Specialised RC Lipo tray with all weight on the inside holes of tray to bring up to legal weight. Much more 24 & 32 Absolute tires with V Made accute and Sweep Z1 traction compounds depending on time of day.

Air temps were in the high 20's with the Sunday being 29 so track was reasonably warm.

Well round 2 of challenge cup has been run and won...

Ended up finishing 4th in the A's. The car was awesome all weekend but due to tyre errors and some mind blanks on my behalf ended up 4th. The car was dialed and up to pace. Clearly noticeable of the speed difference especially off the start down the straight .

I will be buying the new steering column and having a play with that and see how i find it.

NSW titles in 3 weeks time, whos entering?

With just a little bit of work they fit fine. Dont forget they have 3mm diff balls.

Default Phi 2008 diff

Guys,

Recently started using the upgraded "2008" diff. Just a couple of queries.

The diff doesn't seem to move as free as the old, could this be due to the larger diff balls ? ... they seem a tighter fit in the diff gear.

Has anyone tried using the smaller "old" ceramic diff balls ?

Are they any bulid tips recommended for the new diff ?

Cheers

Alan

Hi
I have a problem with the layshaft and alloy spur gear holder. The problem is that the Alloy spur gear pulley holder moves side to side and so much that the spur gear spins at of alignment with the pinion gear and then shreads the spur gear ???

All I can find is a whole lot of 5mm washers but does anyone else know what I can use???

What grease are you using. Have you run the diff yet? They free up a little once run.

Mine has about 2mm play side to side. Its good to have this, helps the belts run in their neutral centre point. Make sure you have your pinion set in the middle of the spur, if this doesnt help shim it up a little.

I have used the older ceramic balls with no problem at all, also make sure with your coned washers you have them in this way () as any other way will make the diff bind slightly.

Thanks Simon,

Does type / quality of grease used on diff balls & plates also make a difference ?
