The Ryde club puzzles me in many ways..........
#167
Our event is for those who want more practice to be able to attend major events, without having to spend heaps of $'s to be competitive.
Ryde club is for the sport and members, lets leave it at that.........

Your actions suggest that there is more than to it than that. It does not strengthen the sport if you are potentially diluting entry to a national title. You seem to be acting for other motivations IMO

I for one am lovin' a bigger event on that weekend that I can actually attend.
There may be 120 top drivers attend the Nationals, but what about the 100's of other who do not go, cant we get a race?
Now if this was a normal club round, I see the problem because racers would miss out on valuable points towards a championship, but its not.
SMA (Onroad - Sydney) scheduled thier final points round for the 2008 season at the same time as last years Onroad Nationals and not much was said about it.
Either go to Canberra to the Nats, go to Ryde to the 2009 Ryde Cup, or sit at home and watch some tv. I vote for racing.

So you encourage people to attend the nats by running something bigger than a club meet on the same weekend? Strange. With approval for B/L motors in spec classes and Lipo, $ wise it should be heaps cheaper to run now.
Lets be honest, the only way to get experience at title events is to attend them. What you are running is nothing more than a glorified club day. Anyone who is fast will be at the nats, and you only get fast by racing these guys. This appears at face value to be a deliberate act to undrmine the national title event on behalf of the Ryde club. I don't race in the dirt, but I would be pissed if you tried this on and I was organising the signature event for EP offroad for the year.

,....... that can't attend probably wont be able to make it to Ryde either. But what about the 1,000's or maybe 1,000,000's (
who knows) that would like to run both?I dont run off-road and am not in Sydney, but if I did and I was, I would be a bit dissapointed in not being able to run both.

Are you aware that it will clash with The AARCMCC - ORRCA Queenland Superstock Titles/ Gas Tourer Championship? The Australian On-Road 2009 events calendar at http://chickentrading.com/viewtopic....st=0&sk=t&sd=a contains information of events, to make it easier to avoid clashes.
