Chad I just wanted to tell you thanks for what you did for me at the Psycho. It was very unexpected and very much appreciated, it shows me that you beleive in customer support 100% and I'm now 100% loyal to Trinity. In case you are not sure who this is, I was the guy with Martin and Travis Phillips by there RV. Thanks again for you help.

Default Pipe Question

I just install a .21 in my RC8. WOW! What a nice motor. Can’t wait to get to the track! I have been running a RB WS7III and happen to have a 2045 pipe and a 192 header lying around. Will that work with my engine? I am running a JP-3 now which seems to be OK. I paid a good bit of money for the RB pipe and hate to not use it. I plan on getting a "fat boy" pipe in the near future.

While they do put about 3 tanks through it before it get's shipped out it's still a good idea to put a couple of easy tanks through it preheating it before starting before you run her to hard. I'd rather over break it in than run into problems later on if you rush it. Enjoy it when you get it, I just broke in another the other day and I really am impressed by the quality and performance of these motors.

Default head shims

2) Shims

.21 Pre Run Head Shims = .038"
.21 fully Modified Head Shims = .028"
.24 Pre Run and .24 Fully Modified Head Shims = .020"

this is for 30% fuel

3) Bottomline - There are no more EB modified engines at the factory. We have not had them for a long time. I know Amain has purchased a lot of the 2.0 Extech's..
Why the difference in head shims from pre run and the mod?
If I remove shims from the pre run what wiil it do?

pre run .21 - raised top piston

fully .21 - flat top pistion

if u run .028" on pre run, you will ruin engine because it will be to little of head clearance.

Did not mean to remove .10, more like .03
What is the performance diff between the
mod and pre run.
Thanks for the quick response Chad.

I havn't run the FM, but from what I have heard, basically, the Pre will have a more snappy bottom. The FM smooths this out and gives a little more RPM range on top. The FM ( I'm guessing? ) will probably also have slightly better fuel mileage.

Itcan very on how you have the engine tuned as well as the size of the track you run on but the normal it from 9:30-11 min. of run time the pipe you run can make a big difference as well we recmond the Trinity Ex-Tech Big Boy 2056 pipe.

What he said the FM turns about another 5000 RPM on top compared to the pre run but it does this by taking a small amount of the bottom end. So full mod in the buggy for the big tracks and a pre run for the smaller stuff. I run the FM regardless of track size and I still think it has plenty of get up and go.
