Default Could use some help

New electric guy here.I bought two 3000 7 cell 8.4 volt packs for my new brushless losi just to try it out.I can get to full throttle as long i do it gradually. If i pin the throttle the car stops and goes into a freeze mode for a sec or two.I'm wondering if the batteries i am using(venoms by the way)are not up to the task?.I have the Novak HV 6.5 esc/motor combo with a 16 tooth pinion in this.Everything else to be fine. It's just when i punch the throttle that it comes to a dead stop and goes neutral.Any other ideas on what it could be?.Please advise..Thank you

PROBLEM SOLVED!!

It sounds like the heavy current draw when you peg the throttle quickly is dropping the voltage of the battery and tripping a low voltage cutoff in the speed control.... you might want to look into disabling the voltage cutoff in the ESC if ther is one when using NIMH batteries.

Venom is getting known for this - they have no QC on batts of any kind. Some get good batts some get lousy batts that are old and have been sitting for too long. Some will get better if cycled several times, some don't get better. If they're new and you got them from lhs - take them back! If not, try to cycle them and hope they will get better.

Ok i picked up my new batts today and all i can say is WHOA!!!..The batteries were definelty the problem. It was my hunch all along as i went through everything and the problem kept pointing back to the crappy venoms. The hobby shop where i purchased these wouldnt beleive me until i actually brought the buggy and showed him in the back alleyway.I then plugged in a set of these http://www.greathobbies.com/producti..._id=GHP460M7PX
And VOILA!.Man what a difference..I got him to give me a full refund on the venom 3000 packs that he sold me and left a happy camper..Thank guys for the advice. This thing is as peppy as my nitro now maybe even more so

Rick
