Hi all, i recently got 18t pulleys and belts for my cyclone and wanted to know what transmission ratio this now creates. Also what spur and pinion size would i use for a 6.5t, 17.5t and a 9.5t brushless motor.

If anyone could tell me that would be great.

Rhys.

Internal drive ratio for 18T pulleys is 2.1667. If you are not using a brushless motor mount, max spur 109T. Temp your motor to determine pinion size.

For rubber tires...

For 17.5 start around 4.0 FDR

For 9.5T start around 5.5 FDR

For 6.5 start around 8.5FDR

To find the spur/pinion combination: # spur gear teeth, divided by # pinion gear teeth, multiplied by Cyclone's internal ratio(2.166) = Final drive ratio

Spur
______ X (2.166)

Pinion

for 17.5 you want to gear around 4.0FDR, then a 96 spur with 51 pinion will get you a 4.06, which is close enough.

96
____ = 1.88

51

1.88 X 2.16 = 4.06

anybody know if the TC chassis could be used as a replacement for the Andy Moore edition ? I realize that there are a few extra holes but do all the important ones line up?
Thanks.

Just seen some photos of the prototype car from the worlds and it looks more like an xray t2 008/9 than a cyclone.
it looks like there is new topdeck, servo saver, rear deck, layshaft mount, motor mount, layshaft assembly and front bulkhead changes, so not to much to talk about .
the photos can be found at petit rc

Which team drivers car is that with the proto pics?

There's pics of Hara and you can see that he is still running the cyclone with the normal motor mount and layshaft mounts.

Yeah cause a lower front deck and mount is what we need for a lipo ready car

Hi, i have just put 18t belts and pulleys inmy cyclone wce and the front belt is a bit tight with the spool bearing holder mark is facing the front of the car and the rear belt is a bit loose with the bearing holder mark facing downwards. Just wondering what is the best position to put these bearing holders in so you get the right amount of tension for the belts.
