max amps does build their batteries on order. Mine hasn't been shipped quick enough because they ran out of hyperion chargers. But you know what? I was perfectly fine with it because i know how it is to run a business and having to know people expect certain things from you and you can't fulfill those expectations. On a few occasions i've made a few mistakes, such working on a customers paintball gun and having flipped over the wrong shim or adding/removing a shim on a regulator

My package came in 9-10 days mainly due to the fact they ran out of hyperion 0606i's (happy i got the new version with the yellow screen) and would have gotten here faster if the hyperions didn't sell out. This would not deter me from doing business with them again, i've seen worse, far worse from other companies and business's.

I have also made 2 purchases from Maxamps and have enjoyed their packs and the t-shirts that I purchased, the packs have been great for me infact I plan on buying their hard case pack some for a big race I plan on attending in Ohio...

I will reiterate that while I was begrudgingly refunded by Maxamps, noone was at all apologetic, or even helpful. Maxamps has a lot of people who it seems will jump in front of cars to save the Maxamps image, if they do the right thing by you, cool.

I will however state that in 10 years of shopping online, 5 years of RC car racing, being an Ebay powerseller myself with a 100% rating, I have NEVER experienced customer service as poor as my experience with Maxamps. That is MY experience.

I will never be buying from them again, and I would never recommend them to anyone.

I have seen this before; some people can under no amount of effort be made happy. the solution we apply is simple, if we bend over backwards to make it right and can't the guy is invited to not come back. And you, I would black list in a heart beat.

I have a much better opinion of MaxAmps policy after reading this thread, thank you for exposing the lengths they will go to work with an irate customer who would rather flame them than get what he paid for.

I just read through the thread as well and see both sides of the story and although I agree the words were a little harsh I need to lean towards the customer on this one due to multiple mistakes being made for this one order.

Another aspect is the expectation of superior service due to the high cost of the product. For some of the most expensive lipo batteries on the market it is reasonable to expect great service and although one mistake will be tolerated by most customers the follow-up mistakes on the same order would tipped the scales towards the customer. I agree the language was harsh and is no way for a customer to manage a vendor but overall I give the benefit of the doubt to the customer provided he was honest throughout the process.

Disclaimer: I have never ordered from MaxAmps, I order my batteries from Thunder Power due to quality product, aggressive pricing and the fact that a decent warranty is included with the product.

I'm surprised how many Americans will shell out $150 on a battery, and even if it takes 4 weeks to show, doesn't work on arrival, and you get dicked around on emails, you still call that "good service"

For the price, Maxamps shouldn't be less reliable than a Venom stickpack but in my experience, well, my Venom pack still works....

MAXAMPS = FAIL!

I agree with you 100%.A good friend of mine swore by MA for the longest time.Even after he ordered a pair of lipos for his E-Revo project.MA was aware of what application these packs were for yet sent him a 2S pack and a 3S pack instead of a pair of matching 3S packs. Then after he contacted them about it,they send him a replacement pack that had the wrong balance plug. That whole deal costed him nothing but alot of down time while MA was apparently just throwing batteries into a box with the lights out and shipping them out.My friend has since had a reality check and now buys from a much better company,price-wise and performance. It's amazing to read this thread and see how many people swear by something just because it is the most expensive thing available.Wake up and smell the coffee people!!!!

I won't be the least bit suprised if this post is deleted by tomorrow morning, just like my last one.Max Amps seems to go to extreme lengths to keep their puppets brainwashed.

Well, I for sure am not "Brainwashed" nor do I buy something because it is the "most expensive"
Five (5) seperate orders under my belt and no problems, with service or product.
While I do understand that there will be a problem once in a while "noone is perfect", For someone that apparently hasn't had first hand experience, to keep making negative comments ????? Whats up with that????
Complain if you have something to complain about !!!!!

1 ot 2 mixups out of how many???? Come on now!!!! sounds like you should get off the pipe for a while

I'm curious as to how many of you who "love maxamps" all seem to be relatively new users with little or no site feedback.

From someone who has been in RC a while, and who has tried every different battery from A123 down to Nicad, and every company from bpp to intellect to trakpower I maintain what I initially said.

In 5 years of racing rc / buying online, my WORST EVER experience with a product was with maxamps.

I've been in retail for 15 yrs and like to think I know a bit about customer service, and I know when it's not there, with maxamps, in my experience, it wasn't there. While they may have a bunch of noobies blowing steam up their backside, from my perspective, with over 200 online transactions, a healthy rctech rating, 5 years in the hobby and 15 years in retail.

Maxamps failed and failed miserably.

If this post stops even one person from being screwed around like I was, well then it's well worth it for me. No customer deserves to be treated with the level of contempt I was shown, as customers we have the right to good service.

How would they be able to do this when RCtech moderators are the only one with that ability?

Nexxus: since you say you've been in retail for a good while.. ever come across an employee or coworker that has in effect.. screwed the dog?

Hey there.

I simply replied to your original post "Has anyone else had a similar experience?"....I didn't realize I had to meet certain criteria

"I'm over it".......

With over 15 years in retail.....If you have made every person you have dealt with 100% satisfied....My hats off to you

Again...nexxus....I hear ya....When I have a bad experience, I too like it to be known. Sears / Home depot are 2 examples of a place I will NEVER shop.

JMO....If you have first hand experience......Say what you feel.

Whatever, guy. My "experience" with MA was me trying to help a good friend with an expensive project that he wanted to make sure was done correctly to avoid ruining some very expensive merchandise. Thanks to MA,this project took about 3 weeks longer than it ever should have. That's the closest I will ever have to first-hand experience with MA for obvious reasons.Sure, nobody is perfect, but when they mess up the same simple order multiple times,I cannot have any faith in doing business with them. With the insane prices they have, this kind of mess-up is unacceptable. Is that enough "experience" for you?

As far as getting off the pipe, you are the one that needs to sober up.You would have to have some sort of motocross knowledge to even understand the name. But,chances are,the only thing you ride is a couch.See that,I can throw insults too, pal.I don't think that proved anything about the subject at hand, but apparently that's how you roll.
