Hey i just got hyper 8.5 pro buggy and i have a go 3port R with a ofna 086 pipe how do you all think engine and pipe will work in this buggy.

3 Port R Spec and 086 pipe will kick butt !!!

If you can, try the Go 0801 as well. The slightly longer header on the 0801 will give the 3 Port a little more bottom end punch

good thing you mention about long header grizz1 cause someone before is talking about this ,is this really gonna help? using a long header for more bottom ,thks

it sure does i used to have a long header on my nova 9886 pipe and gave it heaps of bottom end punch as well as the top end, it is a tuning aid if required

Yes it will make a difference. Generally speaking, the longer the header the more low end torque you get, and the shorter the header the more top end revs you get. Most top end pipes (086 style) have relatively short headers, while low end pipes (063 / 007 style) have longer headers. There is nothing to stop you experimenting with a mix and match set up to incorporate some more low end punch while still extending the top end. In a previous post Retro RC talks about putting the long header off the 0801 pipe onto the GO 2047 pipe (a top end pipe) which really suits the 7 Port motor. The 7 port is known for its wicked top end and the longer header justs gives it more bottom end and a smooth pull right through to the top.
Similarly, if you want to tame a strong bottom end motor like the the 5 Port, use a shorter header on say the 0801 pipe for more smoothness

Default BUGGY CHANGE

hey ya'll,
I recently changed buggies. I'm now in a RC8. this buggy is of course lighter than the LX-1. I'm sure the performance will severly increase. I use a jp-4 pipe on my .21 5port. WHat pipe do you RC8 drivers use.....Keep in mind I live in Georgia. The climate may be different. If someone uses the different venturi's what size is commonly used

thks for the info. grizz1,i should do more testing ur right,it depends on my driving style,& da track that im racing,i lov my 3r so far ,but its just that im (still)lacking bottom currently have the RC8T,& my friend suggest me to use 13th cb for more bottom,instead of 14th ,the track im racing i would say medium track reason cause we got the 140ft straight way,i really dont want to suffer yhe topend

Just wanted to post and say that my 5 port has been perfect in my new RC8T and TQ'ed and won the Byron's after worlds race in CLT yesterday. Plenty of power for truggy even on the big track.

Do you guys loc-tite the carb pinch bolt? Mine fell out on the 5 Port.

Whats the jp-3 on the 7 port like got a couple of headers here and was going to do some testing but have a jp-3 what do you think on a 7 port in truggy or 5 port in truggy? I have a 7 and a 5 port which one would be reccomended in the truck and buggy pipes and all just lookin for some advise on this matter.

I need some help. I'm trying to break in my GO .25 6 Port. I can't get the gas to the carb without taking the pressure tube off the header and blowing the fuel into the carb. When I'm trying to start it and squeeze the throttle the gas actually pushes out of the carb. I've sealed the backplate and the bottom of the carb with sealant. I got the black two needle carb. When I do get it started and can rev it, as soon as I remove the glow plug igniter it cuts off. I heat the head with a blow dryer and wrap the head with foil to get the temps up.

HALP!!

Nah - I wouldn't lock-tite the pinch bolt. Would you should do though, which will also solve your problem, is to seal both ends of the pinch bolt assembly with RTV sealer. I use "Blue" RTV and it works fine. This prevents any air leaks through the bolt or threads of the pinch bolt, which can be a common area for leaks. Make sure you seal the carb body/crankcase join, and the back plate as well while you have the RTV sealer out

From what I have heard the JP pipes are only OK on the Go engines. People seem to get better performance and economy with other pipes.

5 Port in the truck and 7 port in the buggy for sure.

5 Port try the new GO 0801 pipe (ballistic) or if your on a budget go for the Dynamite 086 (pretty close to ballistic).
7 Port again try the new GO 0801 pipe (ballistic), the GO 2047 pipe with longer header (ballistic) or again if on a budget go for the Dynamite 053 (pretty close to ballistic)
