the jp4 is a good pipe and is legal the only issue is it is more for a big track where you dont need much bottom i ran this pipe on a track that has a straight away just about 170 ft ,revelation raceway and the pipe was nice just had that dead spot on bottom so running this pipe on a small track your going to be wondering where your bottom is and your going to start leaning wich will make your tune all crazy and idle strange... for a small track 2013 is great and legal ..also the new grp pipe is great for a big track if any of you guys are running at the nitro pit in arizona and have tried either of these pipes out their let me know how it is thanks .....this saturday we are running at Thunder alley and will be doing more pipe testing on the fresh layout

WORD!

The JP-4, is a (mid to top end) pipe. If anything I'd try the JP-3, it's a (Low to top end) pipe...

Chad

Why did you say that if it was a JP pipe take it off?? Does that apply to all of them JP1-2-3-4 ?? or just one??

the GRP pipe is very simular to the jp4 wonderful for a big track but also pretty dead at bottom ,i went out a couple thursdays ago and ran it at Rev and it was nice you just had to go wide to hit the jumps coming out of a sharp turn like a 180 but pulled very smooth all the way through and kept pulling down that long straight away lol rev is i believe like 190 by 165.make sure your running the new grp pipe its chrome they switched materials since their release...that saturday i went to arc and ran the same everything pipe, restrictor everything ,this track is smaller probably about 165 to 165 pretty nice set up actually ,the front straight is like 150 max and the GRP just wasnt doing it for me i reset my linkage everything my first 1/4 throttle was missing basicaly it sucked i couldnt drive it was killing me lol..we put a 7 restrictor in it and it still did it ,i put that novarossi 9853 with the 7 restrictor and my problem was solved no more missing 1/4 throttle i hit that triggle and it lights up from top to bottom nice and smooth....

so grp is very nice for a big flowing track but not so lovely on a medium to small track if your track is very high speed and flows very well try it ,if you can keep your rpm's up coming in and out of corners you might like it....if you plan on coming to the Nitro challenge or any race at the Nitro pit bring a grp i believe that pipe is going to be great their.....

GRP run time with a 8 restrictor i got just over 9 min running at 200 on big track...
GRP run time with a 8 restrictor i got just over 10 min running at 190 on medium size track...

7 restrictor nova 9853 10:30 at 170 on medium size track....
8 restrictor nova 9853 9:30 at 175 on big track

over 4 gallons and i still cant turn it over by hand... luv it ...

Thanks for the info. I have yet to try the GRP pipe. Not sure that it would match our style of tracks in this area.

Which motor are you using the Full mod or the Race prep?

Had a issue with the extech today when I took it to the track to get some tanks in it before the pro series this weekend. I put about 3 tanks through it here at the house last week and it ran strong. Got it to the track today and no matter what tuning changes I made it wouldn't make it around the track more than a couple laps or less. It kept dying after wot and as soon as I would let off and it dropped in rpm it just shut off. I've quaddruple checked my idle and it continued to do this whether I was at the rich needle settings or the tuned settings, checked the clutch and it's fine and my servo epa is correct also. The only thing I can think of is I need a hotter plug, I was running the medium hot extech and just ordered some hots, when I was runnning it at the house it was in the upper 80's and 90's and today it's only 75. I'm hoping the hotter plug solves the problem, has anyone else had this issue before as maybe I'm overlooking something. Thanks

i have a ? and dont try to bullchit me me and another guy are running the extech engines and yes we know how to tune 1. but there is no way we are getting over 7.30 mins of run time on our engines. we are both running the 086 pipe i have over a gallon on mine and he has over 2 on his. so dont try this check for leaks and check for that because we have been over both our stuff. i would just like to no what i need to do to get the 9-10 mins run time? do i need a restrictor ? or what ? tks to trinity best engine i have ever had.
