First off, you were the one that said it took 1 week, not 2.
And then let me help you out with the simple math ~
2 to 3 days turnaround = time in house (i.e. time they need to make up the pack and process and pack up the order)
+
who knows how long for shipping to the backwoods of aussieland
=
a seems pretty good, considering
p.s. I thought you didn't bitch about toy car stuff?

I've had nothing but great service from MaxAmps. Most recently I picked up a couple LiPos for my mod Sliders and had 'em here in 3 business days from time of order.
HERE'S what amazed me...they followed up the order a couple weeks later with a card thanking me for my order, etc, and asking me to call if I had any problems with or questions regarding their product. THAT IS AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THIS OR ANY INDUSTRY. Nice card too with a picture of the MaxAmps crew, not some generic "thank you" card (which really would have been fine). These weren't inexpensive to have printed and show that not only do they talk customer service, they're investing in it.
I just wish they did ROAR-spec hardcases, but I'm guessing they've decided the core of their market are bashers and a goodly share of the "outlaw" racers (folks who race at tracks where hardcases aren't required) market. Can't fault 'em if it's a business decision...

Yeah I love Maxamps, ordered my first lipo from them almost a year ago, now I have six of their packs. A few times I've seen a product listed on their site as "Allow extra X days for this item" because they are assembling them by order rather than stockpiled in a warehouse.
I had a question on a charger that I ordered from somewhere else, called Maxamps because they also sold that line, Austin answered the phone (!!!) and talked me through it. I'm the first to come down on a company that doesn't support their sales, but I've had nothing but great experiences with them. They are a fairly large company now and mistakes will happen - it's how the company handles the situation after the mistake that identifies them.

I have to agree with everyone else, great customer service, I ordered a charger, and 1 lipo with a custom request and they arrived about a week later. A couple weeks later I ordered another custom lipo and it arrived a week later nd I got 2 handwritten cards from maxamps. I am very very very satisfied.

Well the pack ended up being faulty (negative lead not soldered on right and came adrift) but they refunded it so it's been an educational experience.
Glad some people have had success with them.
I can only base my opinion on my experience.

Well then, you've gotten your free battery pack you were after in the first place then, haven't you. Try getting that sort of response from pretty much anybody else in RC and see what you get.
Further evidence MaxAmps customer service is second to none.

I am upset with MaxAmps it took two weeks for me to get my order. Then they forgot to include the Traxxas connection that was supposed to be a part of my order. My friend also put in an order at the same time and they connected the connection reversed on his battery, and when he plugged it into his can it blew a cell in his battery. And what did they do for all this trouble I got a free shirt. Now it will be over three weeks from the time I ordered my battery until I can drive my car.

kingeorge,
I am very sorry that there was a delay in your order and that there was a connector missing. Could you tell me who it was that you talked to here. I would like to talk with them regarding your order and get to the bottom of why there was such a delay. Our turn times are currently between 24-48 hours so two weeks is a huge anomaly. I understand that is free T shirt is like a "slap in the face" after this sort of long delay and I am very sorry that we did not make you a raving fan. I can assure you that our goal is to make every customer a raving fan.
As for any errors in shipping and a reversed connection on the pack, there are 3 different checks that take place here to keep from sending out the wrong items and keep these sort of things from happening. Three people had to drop the ball on your order for this to happen. The fact that there was an issue with both your order and your friends order is very, very rare. In fact, I can only remember one order that had a reversed connection on the pack.
Again, I am very sorry for the delay and error. We really do appreciate your business and hope that we can make it right for you. Please feel free to call me personally when you get a chance so that we can talk about it. I will have a meeting with production and shipping in the morning regarding your order to get to the bottom of it and insure that it will not happen in the future.
In the small world of the internet and the rc industry, even one mistake is too many. We will do whatever it takes to make it right for you and turn you into a raving fan.
Best Regards,

I have had the same experience with slow processing. My first oder was a few moths back, I order two packs and a charger and it took 9 days before they shipped it. I got an apology and was assured that this was not a common thing. I order another battery not long ago and this time it took 8 days and an email before it finally got shipped.
I have no problem when shipping (the carrier) is slow but it shouldn't take that long to box something up and send it out.
