I would say either a bad batch or possibly an issue with the way the motor was mounted. Currently, I own two Mamba Max 7700 and also had a 5700 and none of them have had any issues. Also, I have four Mamba 25's and one Mamba Micro Pro and no issue with any of them from day one. I've owned three of the Mamba 25's from several years ago when they first came out and haven't had any complaints. Initially, they did have cogging issues which were later resolved with the firmware updates. Their customer service is also top notch! I'm a big supporter as you can see. That isn't to say that Novak and LRP don't have the same thing. Since I've owned two Novak SS5800's, GTB 5.5R, & GTB 4.5R, I can say that the Novak's are great products, too, and I also have spoken with their customer service which was good, too. I just preferred Castle's stuff more in terms of flexibility and the more personalized attention that they've given to me.

well all i can say is that with all my castle stuff (that i purchase b/c it was the best non-novak deal around for both 2wd mod buggy and 1/18th mod), it hasnt been clear sailin with everythin. however unlike many companies, they step up and do what it takes to make it right. i buy on that.

ultegrasti, sorry to hear that it didn't really work out for you. I know there were some other that did have some issues here and there, but maybe I was the lucky one. I'm not saying they are the best company out there, but they would be one of the better ones.

i have had the side winder with a 4600 and pushing it to 65mph on 3s i had no problems with it. also had a 9000kv cc motor on a mamba max on 2s hitting 80mph and still no problems with motor or controller. so perhaps the problem is a bad batch of shafts. the mamba max pro is a different story, i have one hooked up to a 13.5 losi motor and every time i turn the wheel for a split second it will throw it in to neutral or break. i have tried using sensord and smart sence mode and still the same thing. i even tried switching motors using a 10.5 and still the same. i suspect something with the jr 9100s servo but i have not had the problem when i had it in a car with the mamba max and a 5700.

you realize that those posts above you are responding to are like 1-1/2 years old..right?

I wonder if they ever did admit they had a bad batch of shafts..?

I have tested things for Castle for more than 10 years and without a doubt, they have been the best company overall to deal with that there is...
They will stand behind anything and go way over and beyond what most any other company will do to keep you happy.

If every company had the Castle ethic, then there would be far fewer issues in the world!

I agree i have no problem with castle in fact I have a very good relationship with Thomas at castle he will defenatly bend over backwards to make any issue correct. he is in the midst of trying to figure out what is going on with my controler now and has already sent me a new one out so i dont miss my race this weekend.
