Maxi, raced with a EB modded Ex Tech last night (Sponsored driver too) and will tell you this from what I saw of it , It has REtarded bottom ! VERY responsive engine for sure ! As for milage... well my 21 gallon 421B consistantly out distanced it and pulled it on the straights and through the sweeper .He was getting consistant 7 minute runs and I was getting over 8 with no worries of running out
BUT I am a lot smoother on the trigger and my track is one that reqires a lot of throttle to be fast! The local hot shoe took the ExTech for a rip and run'er out of fuel at the 6 minute mark LOL .
He might be fast but he DEFINATELY hard on fuel

I was impressed by the engine's performance overall though ,for $429 (I think) for the modded version , this is a nice mill . Ran cool too.
If I could get 21 gallons from one I would DEFINTELY get one! But I need to purchase one first to find out LOL.

I think it may be a rebadged CL7B to be honest....which would match killer low end and little less top end

Well, Just went out and fired it up for the first time. Fired right up
and runs like a raped ape already and it is still running rich!! Temped
at 190 and is blowing a lot of smoke. Loads up when idling, so there is
still a lot left in it.
I will let you know how it runs tonight.

sorry for being a bit off topic , but last year i purchased a trinity .28 , this engine ran great with good longevity , problem is now its a bit wore out and i noticed i cant get p/s or a rod thru the distributors ( horizon ) and there not listed on trinitys website . any info would be great thanks again ! - the extech looks good , might get one , but if i cant rebuild it next season it becomes an expensive paperweight !

I think that engine is the same as the Picco .28 so the parts will fit from that engine.

I just got home from the races tonight. All I can say is the ExTech engines are for real!!
We took TQ in both Expert Truggy (me) and Expert Buggy (Kinwald).
I was misinformed and got to the track just minutes before my first heat, so I had a total of 1 tank through my new engine before my first heat race. I TQ'ed both rounds of qualifying. Our heats are 7 minutes and with the stock needle settings, I had no problem finishing.
I took longer than I had anticipated rebuilding my clutch before the main and I didn't make the start, so I started a lap down. I worked my way up to 3rd by the end of the main. I leaned the bottom just a hair and I pitted at 8 minutes.
This engine has a ton of bottom end and is scary fast on the top end. I can't wait for it to break in.
Kinwald also won his main and went the whole 10 minute main without pitting. I looked in his tank at the end and he still had almost 1/4 of a tank left!!! He could have gone 13 minutes or more.
Oh by the way......Brian Kinwald is back!!!!!

Yesterday at Wolcott Raceway in Ct. my mbx5t was pulling wheelies in the A main. P4 plug w/ 2013 pipe, temped 220..The engines are sick! 
Overall my lap times got better at my local tracks and I'm getting just as good run time if not better then my EB V Specs and my V Spec weren't pulling any wheelies. LOL
