1100 cells (VPX Black and Decker)
Walmart had dropped the price to like 17.88 or something like that, but now it's back to 20 bucks again.
I'm using the 1100 cells for a special light I use at work... but I have been wanting to try a 2s2p or 2s3p pack in a 1/10 car just for kicks.
next time Lowes sends me a $10 off coupon I might pick up another pack or two.

I have newer SC cell 950mah and run 6.4V 2900mah 2s3p
and soon i test 2s2p or 4s1p with esc same side of my pack
for offroad i think it was better than lipo
same speed with good gearing but little less torque on start
better smooth start and more smooth on slipper and drive shaft
you need to make small adapter with 6 A diode to lower voltage of lipo charger to 3.6 - 3.8V best for lifepo4 cell
the big diiferency is the power up at the middle of the race same with the temp of the cell
and soon i test 2s2p or 4s1p with esc same side of my pack

i have a 1100 mah Black and decker battery that i've experimented with, and its pretty damn durable!
i've overcharged it, over discharged it, and even (accidentally) shorted it! and yet it still works. I am just running 2s1p, and it runs OK, but thats because its too much amperage for it to handle (thus votage dips). i'm sure if you hooked two up in parrallel, it would work much better.
i was thinking this battery would be good for a "spec" class, both on and off road. cant gear too much, and since its such low power, brushes dont wear as fast. Plus they come with a hard case (Roar legal?)

I dont have an official charger, but i use the motor break-in feature on my 989 to supply 6.6v (3.3v/c) at X amperage. when it reaches 3.3v, it will reduce charge current to keep it at 3.3v.

The people investing their lively hood into r/c do not want to see a true spec class. However, I also believe that these new technologies can help r/c racing to boom since you no longer need to spend $500 on battery tech.

If you want the 2300cells then purchase a dewalt 36volt pack. They have 10 cells in them & can be purchased for like $120 off of ebay. For the 1100 cells purchase the black & decks packs. A ballancer is not a must, but I would recomend using one. If you want alot of run time then wire them in parallel.

can i charge these with a lab power supply? it would be constant voltage, so as the batteries hit full charge it SHOULD srop to about 15mah or whatever the cells need to overcome internal resistance.
