I have a Spektrum module in my EX-1 Mars, they are essentially the same radio. I don't see why not.

I cannot recommend using that module with the EX-1 UR. I can only recommend modules designed for the EX-1 UR.

You do so at your own risk.

The PC board inside the Tx is entirely new with a new CPU. It may not operate correctly (Mars module) and you will have less range due to the module output.

No, it will not work. The EX-1 UR will have it's own wheel extension unit similar to the previous EX-1 series.

So what is the top of the line radio in KO radios, this or the helios?

Thanks John Schoenauer
These are the new features EX-1 UR has and the EX-10 Helios does not;
1) faster response "Ultra"
2) can be configured to be a 4 channel system
3) new function called Quick Steering & Throttle for quicker response setting
4) new function called Steering & Throttle Monitor to check the operation. You can also check channel 3 and 4
5) new function called Idle Up
6) smaller steering wheel with the decrease angle spacer (like the Helios C2 but plastic)
7) Key repeat setting, these are short cuts buttons to functions that you assign priority to.

These are the features that the EX-10 Helios has and the EX-1 does not;
1) Custom menus
2) Custom melodies
3) ICS
4) Larger handle and grip
5) Multi angle wheel extension

Hope this helps.

The difference between the two is a clever marketing strategy to get ppl to buy the newer controller, bit like the futaba new one coming out... upgrade if u want but do u really need the new one.

Default Module from helios compatible.

The underside of my Helios is cracked where the tab for the battery cover snaps in. I'm wondering if the high speed module from my helios will work with the EX-1; If so then I can just order the transmitter. Any info would be appreciated.
