5280 Raceway - Colorado On Road RC Club (CORRC)
#796
I wanted to take a minute to let you all know that I just sent out the first CORRC newsletter today. I am trying to send this out after each race to keep the club better informed about what is going on in CORRC world. I sent the newsletter to all of the email addresses that I have so I am sure I missed a bunch. At the next race I will be going around and asking people for thier updated information, but in the mean time I could use your help.
If you are a club member, but did not recieve the newsletter then their are one of two potential problems...
1) I do not have your email address
or
2) The address I have is old or not used anymore.
Either way we can easily fix this...If you did not receive the newsletter via email then please PM me your email address ands Name and I will get it updated on our master list. Once I get some more email addresses I will be sending out an updated newsletter for this weeks activities (forgot a couple of things anyway).
Thanks,
Art

There has been a question raised as to the classes that we will be racing at the Carpet Classic next weekend.
As ROAR is making some changes to the motors and allowing Lipo in some classes, we will leave our classes alone for this event. At the event we will put it to a vote to leave the classes alone for the balance of the carpet season or to change to the new ROAR rules.
We also should vote on leaving the carpet at 60' x 120' or down sizing to the 48' x 98' that Omaha is.
FYI - The club web site has now passed 5,000 hits since September!

Sorry Tyler, but the track size for the Carpet Classic with be our 60' x 120'. However the two races in February would be up in the air as well as the 9th of March.

If anyone is interested the meeting notes from ROAR are posted on thier site. There is much talk about brushless and Lipo. Really not mutch change for us as a club. We can keep the 13.5 in stock till the end of carpet season and then change when we go outside to the pavement.
One thing we need to do for ROAR saftey is to get 4 5gal pails of sand. We already have the fire extinquishers, but they should be taken in and inspected and taged for 2008.

What does a newb need to bring to the track to be ready to go? Some kind of table I presume? Extension cords and power strips too? Am I okay to run a Novak 13.5 w/LiPo and CS27's in rubber? Any other special info I should know?
Once the outdoor season starts, how does that usually go? Are there races every weekend? Am I gonna be sad if I don't own a generator? What other kind of stuff should I expect to need?
If all goes well, I'm hoping to join you guys for the 2/24 race, and thereafter. Sorry for all the questions, all of my racing has been done at permanent facilities, so I need to get up to speed on how clubs do things.

hey syndrome, good to have you aboard, and looking forward to meeting you. i've been following your posts for a few years regarding bl/lipo, so it will be good to meet a legend..
anywho, there are plenty of people with generators when outside, and we share our electricity freely. look me up if you need some.
yes, bring a table/chair and cord/outlet strip to all events. that plus plenty of front suspention parts is all you should need extra.
and bring some big gears to the carpet. you'll need them.

Ooooh, a "legend," I like the sound of that! Who knew talking too much and harassing people on the Internet could earn you such an honorary title? :-)
That's cool about people sharing power outdoors, I may have to mooch off someone for a while until I figure everything out. Thanks for the info, I'm looking forward to meeting everybody as well.

Syndrome, I think the club is planning to run every other weekend in the summer. Hobby Town West is the place to be on the other Sundays
When does the club plan to start outdoor season? I can hardly wait.

Oh cool, so there's racing every weekend between the two? Good deal, I'm down for EP sedan. I guess there's no on-road during the week around Denver, right?
