one way diffs are like normal gear/ball diffs, except they have a one way bearing on the shaft, so that you have 4wd when accelerating and 2wd when breaking and entering corners. i forgot what difference it made to the handling though

One way front is the way to go if you are road racing the car on a track with tighter corners. one way acts like having an e-brake on a rwd car. When on throttle all four wheels spins. When you come into a corner tap the brakes and the rear wheels will lock but the front will still spin making your car swing into turns faster.

I took you guys who suggested I upgrade my esc's advice and got an LRP Quantum Pro Reverse Esc. I went one step further and got a front one-way and ball diff for the rear as well and swapped out the stock dogbones and axles for metal light weight ones from the TG10. The differences are amazing from what I can hear when i pull the trigger on the transmitter. I also decided to direct solder my motor to the esc.

I run 28/55 without any problems and I think it would even fit 28/52.

The CF chassis does not use the Tamiya standard motor mount. Unlike the Tamiya mount, you don't rotate the motor to get the correct spur-pinion spacing. It has two slots, one at the top and one at the bottom where you fit the bolts that hold the motor. You slide the motor towards the spur gear until the teeth mesh then tighten the bolts. Have a look at http://www.rc-area.co.uk/blog/?p=1435. With 28/55 the bolts are about in the centre of the slots and there is at least another 1- 2 mm to go either way.
What spur/pinion combo are you planning on running, because I am not sure you can get beyond 28/52 with the TT-01. Maybe someone else has more experience with that.

i am currently making a custom alloy spur gear holder for on of my TT01's. i plan on using any pitch that will give me a low 4fdr...as long as it fits in the plastic chassis and motor cover. so far it is going to plan an i will post pics of it to show you guys.
i bought the 3racing chassis the other day and fitted it to my other TT01. the motor mount does allow the motor to slide, but i have to work out a way of making another spur gear holder so i can use other pitches to achieve my desired FDR. i weighed the car this morning: RTR with a 101bk, servo, reciever, silvercan, 3600mah ladder pack and tamiya focus shell, it weighed in at 1489grams!!! the car has bearings, tie rod turnbuckels and alloy shaft. i have never owned such a light chassis!
i plan to remove the upper arms on the car and replace them with tie rods so camber can be adjusted on front and rear also

So it looks like you can mount the spur gear on and pinion independent from the chassis so the meshing can be looked at better. Or you you have to adjust the meshing when the mount is on the chassis?
