http://cgi.ebay.com/OFNA-Hyper-8-5-S...QQcmdZViewItem

Its for sale online now, same price as the original. Looks excellent with a thicker chassis (probably the most needed upgrade) and many minor improvements.

Hi Frank. i may be wrong but im sure i saw posts from you complaining about the 8 as a heap of crap and how are you going to get to last a enduro let alone a heat.
Got on top of your problems?? i do know you have almost every Hop op you can get. Stick with it as im sure its better than most out there and its a little under rated on the track. . Would love to make the States as the last i did at Rocky it was great but i was new to nitro. We are building a house and im such a tight budget hence why my 8 still hasn't seen the track and only 2 ltrs in my new modded V spec (8 moths old).
Cheers Mark.

I think i have got ontop of the probs ive been having with it. Teh stripped knuckles it think happened cause i was running the kortz conversion which creates alot of flex in the front, i wont be running that again, ive since put the team prc knuckles on and reverted back to the standard front arm setup and the screws havnt worked their way out yet. The diffs leaking ive fixed...sorta, racers choice air sealant seems to seal them up better than anything else ive tried. I still have no idea why both crown gears stripped at the same time, put new pinons, bearings and gearboxes (for cheap as chips too, gotta love ebay) in as a preacautionary thing cause crown gears arnt cheap. These new rear arms and hubs look really good, i guess only time will tell if they flogg out as quick as the last 2 designs. The car handles great and no doubt (2007 euro's) can keep up with anythign out there, i was just so frustrated at having to replace stuff all the time, was costing me a $fortune$. The car didnt fail in the enduro but my engine did (head worked its way loose, my bad) which was a shame cause the car felt great! Just cant seem to catch a break atm.

I tried the set up you suggest frank and it rides real well with good power down but i put white springs on the back and blew the seals on the shocks. i was after a bit more power down but it rides small jumps very well.

If your after more on power rear traction, try shortening the wheel base and/or try the rear upper arm link mod

I have a ballance issue at the moment as i get any air the car tends to role. it is that bad that i got a full barrel role over one of the jumps( and landed it) at our track last meet. it looked great but it bad to try and race with. where are your shock mounts top and bottom positioned? and altering my wheel base? how?

Are you running the stock shocks? Im not up to date on the ratings and colours of the springs for the stock shocks. Check for bent shafts and make sure the shocks feel the same on each side, your rolling issue could be bent shaft or one shock has leaked and the other one hasnt and its inconsistant. To shorten the wheelbase shift both the clips/gaskets that are on each side of the rear hubs towards the back.

I drilled my shock pistons out to 1.5 and it made a massive improvement. I also noticed that the pinion shaft that goes in through the flywheel on the centre diff is very worn and i lost all my oils. Anyone solved this problem? Everyone i know who has had a hyper 8 has had this occur.

Maybe your diff seals need replacing, i had a problem with the diffs leaking through the screws and had to replace the diff cups.
