major glitching when i install hitec on gst
#1
i wanted a faster and higher torque servo in my cen gst 7.7, so i installed a hitec hs-5945mg servo. i'm getting weird behavior though when i install it. i get major glitching all over the place and my 1400mah receiver battery dumps after only like 3-4 mins of driving. i threw back in the stock cen servo and everything is back to normal. no glitching and longer receiver pack time. with the hitec servo installed, it performs flawlessly with really good speed and torque, but with glitching and battery dumping. what's going on?

what radio are you using? Also, have you tried a different receiver pack? Give hitec a call as I have heard of glitching issues from the servo, but its aways good to work back from the common points to identify the root problem.

i'm using the stock skyion dsx 3ch am pistol grip and an intellect 1400mah hump pack. i'll try another rx pack and see what happens. someone told me to try wrapping the hitec wires around a magnet to help with interference. is there any truth to that? thanks

5945mg? mg stands for metal gear. Some digital mg servo's generate radio frequency when metal gears turn against each other. That RF noise or electric noise you hear can cause glitching especially in an AM radio. I'm no expert but the way I understand it is, digital servo's are better than analog (I can explain why but I'll need to read up on it again) but you need a good radio to make em work right.

I had my servo glitch when i tried the jr metal gear servo, then i tried the hitec one and it fixed it, this was also with metal gears, its draining your batts, because it is a better servo and is using up more power.
