With it mounted on the cover ,you dont have to pull the wiring and aerial out to check the plugs or to bind the transciever. Also a lot neater on the wiring side.
Forgot to mention stripping your reciever pack and soldering all the contacts between the cells ,thats what has been giving us runaways. You can shrink wrap it after you finish solder it.

Also on the battery plug that replaces the on/off switch Id suggest super glueing a small cable tie in the 3rd slot/hole thats not used. The head of the cable tie gives you something to grip when pulling out the plug ,prevents you pulling out the wire.

After seeign your pics, NOW i gottcha...... the littlest things do matter...

Cheers Champ

It is kind of surprising to see not many drivers wrap their receivers with a baloon.

I do not go out without one!!

Specially with Spektrum receivers you would not have to cut the baloon open too often.

I do love the tie wrap tip into the battery plug, though!

I wont hog the credit ,got it from 3hobby a while back.
As for balloons ,I didnt have any to replace the broken one from my preious reciever but after my buddy and I mounted our recievers lik this we haven had any issues besides dust etc. Just blow everything off with a compressor.
When we had the reciever mounted as per instructions ,it would get fuel in it and was a mission to get out due to the wiring.

Something else ,I have stopped using the traditional way of opening the fuel tank with the cable tie hanging out the rear window.
I mounted the cable tie to the rear shock tower ,so when we grab the car ,we can grab ,pick up and open tank all in one go.

Hope these pics are clear.

Hey Razzo,

luv the pics, they do say a thousand words!!!

Now with your engine head, why so big, to defelct heat? are these optional on any motor?

Just curiouse....

Also noticed new shocks, compared to the stadard silver ones.. nice touch or diferant in design?

Plus love all the little holes for tuneing points.... very nice indeed

cheers

Those shocks used to come with the previous G4 versions...

I have a few of those myself and they are the same except for the color. They make for a welcome, different touch!

You can tune the amount of steering both on and off power...

For a track with lots of bite you may want to try 40k to 50K in the front that will give you lots of off power steering. 30k - 40K at the rear will yield much on-power steering.

If the track is low bite then you may go as high as 100K up front and 10k at the rear. These will prevent the car from oversteering in and out of the turns. Stiffer diff up front to control oversteering into the turn or off power and softer diff at the rear to control oversteering when applying power again out of the corner...

You can try combinations in between to get the car to do exactly what you want...

ADJUSTING FRONT AND REAR GEAR DIFFERENTIALS
Gear differential action is adjusted by filling the gear differential with differential oil of a specific viscosity.
Differential oil is rated with a “viscosity” number that indicates the thickness of the oil, which determines how much the oil resists flowing. Differential oil with a higher viscosity (for example, 100,000 oil) is thicker than differential oil with a lower viscosity (for example, 40,000 oil).

• To make a gear differential LIGHTER, fill it with thinner oil.
• To make a gear differential HEAVIER, fill it with thicker oil.

EFFECTS OF FRONT GEAR DIFFERENTIAL ADJUSTMENT
Lighter Front Differential (thinner oil)
• Decreases understeer
• Decreases stability under braking and acceleration
• Increases chance of traction roll
Heavier Front Differential(thicker oil)
• Increases understeer
• Increases stability under braking and acceleration
• Reduces chance of traction roll

EFFECTS OF REAR GEAR DIFFERENTIAL ADJUSTMENTLighter Rear Differential (thinner oil)
• Decreases on-throttle steering
• Less acceleration if the grip is there
• Less predictable car (cars with very “loose” diffs have a tendency to understeer heavily under throttle and turn-in oversteer as soon as you lift)
• Less on-throttle oversteer (snap-oversteer)
• Less turn-in understeer
• Less stable under braking
Heavier Rear Differential (thicker oil)
• Increases on-throttle steering
• Better acceleration if the grip is there
• More predictable car (cars with very “loose” diffs have a tendency to understeer heavily under throttle and turn-in oversteer as soon as you lift)
• More on-throttle oversteer (snap-oversteer)
• More turn-in understeer
• More stable under braking

TRACTION CONSIDERATIONS:
* The higher the traction, the lighter the diff oil up front, and the heavier at the rear.
* The lesser the traction, the heavier the diff oil up front, and the lighter at the rear.
