What sort of rollouts are people using on a small/medium carpet track with the Novak 13.5 stock brushless? Also, what spur are you using to achieve this ratio? I'm going to be getting setup shortly.

I've only done some testing but we have run the 13.5 at a 64mm roll out, on a 72x36 foot carpet track. It takes an 88 tooth spur to make it fit.

WOW! Really that high? I was running a 1.8" rollout this weekend with an XStock. That's only about a 45mm rollout.

On sedans the guys testing 13.5 with sintered rotors are running roll outs at high as 1.58

With a sintered rotor you can disconnect the blue wire on the sensor loop and run the motor up to 200deg F safely.

I think roll outs in the 50mm (2.0") or even taller range would be fine in 1/12th car with a 13.5 and sintered rotor.

FYI, you will be out running 19T 1/12 cars at those ratios

actually i ran mine with a 83 spur with a 67mm rollout (sintered rotor) ,i could gone up but i had the biggest pinion that i could fit in, i need it to go to a smaller spur!!

Yes, I was surprised at how high they want to run. Forget everything you have learned about brushed motor roll out. To find the correct roll out I went with the advice of another racer here who had been running the 13.5 for a little while, that saved me a lot of time since I never would have guessed!

Marcos,
What you need is my new OD Racing Products Spur Gear Adapter! It allows you to mount a spur gear to the pinion shaft, achieving ratios of under 1:1. This will give you roll outs around a Kazillion.
