whooohhhh... I got my peltier chip today and I'm putting mine together right now. I just need a clamp. Right now I'm testing it I have it upside down I just put the 3racing heatsink on top with a motor clamp on it. So far so good I only have it on for couple of minutes. I'll live it on for a while let see what will happen. To bad I don't have a temp gun........

The peltier chip I got only pulls about 3.5 amps.....

Than if so, Then I thought I could maybe bend a copper sheet over the motor to make a clamp of some sort.

Well guys it did what it suppose to do. But I guess I'm going with the 2 peltier chip on the next one I'm going to built. This one will do the trick for now it chilled the motor really good I left the motor for about 15 minutes. Now I just need to go get some copper clamp probably it will work a lot better.

The heat sink from radioshacks sucks and they are too small. Go to some local computer store they got some better heatsink. and those copper sheet your talking you can't really bent those they have thin layer of plastic right on the middle you will break it, I know this co'z I've since those just today at radioshacks.

man i never thought it would be this hard to find one of those peltier chips... i went to fryes and asked for one and they thought i was crazy and didnt know what the h*ll i was taking about . so i ended up ordering a 350 watt monster that is capable of icing over in 30 seconds

I'm thinking of getting one of those but it's hard to find a heat sink that will accomodate all the heat it will generate. I've seen one of those on ebay.

well, get this you can only use this sucker for about 3 min or it will frezze ur whole car
im using a 120 mm fan to suck all the heat up

sorry for double post but it doesent generate that much heat if your worried about that just use a second peltier to cool the monsters hot side

You know, it would help if you had a motor case (can) machined from aluminum. It would be best to have a flat block designed as the top surface. This way you could apply the freeze to the block and that will hold the cold longer. Hmmm, may be I should start making custom aluminum motor cases!
