One of this countries best for quite a few years Scott. Wish you could make it back mate. Come down for a race, I will throw you one of my cars to use anyday mate. Lets see if you can remember how. Don't mind sitting out a couple of races to watch a good old Guyatt/S & D Perry Mod Final. Been a while since i saw one of those. Be great to watch.

Its not just brushes 99ninety,
Constant truing of your comm will wear that out too. Then a new armature is required. They arent cheap. And imagine the beautiful feeling of not having to worrying about retruing your comm before the next heat at a big meeting. Mmmmmmm, just sit back and have a Coke Zero and a cucumber sandwich.
Total bliss. I will have 2 5.5 Novaks please

seems true that but i am not that serious to true my com every race and i seem to still have speed and do alright.I think i need to get one and just test it out see how long it does perform for.i have to say to that brushless motors do seem to get of the line a little better in offroad i have heard that a lot of no limit and brushless speed controllers cant handle some of the new motors.
they seem good tho i will have to investigate more.

ahh yeah i have, i have tested them. it isnt hard to get a 2wd to wheelstand, but it isnt fast, if the slipper it set properly they shouldnt wheel stand.
thats great that your getting a brushless system, try it by all means, then put in a brushed motor and feel the difference..... let us know

M.J - I assume you need a legal system? I am gong the Mamba Max. The combo deal motor has a 540 rotor (woohoo go the torque) so it is illegal but the ESC may interest you. Its just been released so no reports on how well it runs other motors yet. It has a usb port that you can upgade the firmware on it, I have used this feature before on the Mamba 25 and performance increased
If I need to go legal I'll have to get a legal brushless (or brushed urrghh yuck) motor. The Mamba Max ESC runs the 3 types of motors, sensorless, sensored and brushed.
tony2 - I've only had the Mamba 25 but its nothing like the no bottom end "switch" system you state brushless are.
re: slipper, so what your saying is if you have the slipper set up correctly you wouldn't notice if it was brushed or brushless as both would be slipping
.
The mamba 25 sold me on brushless. If there is enough traction it flips the RC18 (no slipper) if I nail it. I have been waiting some time for its big brother and its finally out - I'll be ordering a Mamba Max soon

No little fan for a moron like me to jam his thumb into - i think one is available but im finding temps to be very low anyway.

au nightmare- a good driver should be able to tell the difference between a slipper slipping and doing it job and a motors power curve, when a slipper is properly set you shouldnt really even feel it slip.

For those interested the Novak 3.5r systems and individual motors have arrived locally, HEI have plenty of stock hitting the shops already, at least two will be on track at SORMCC this weekend. Will be interesting to see how they go.
Improved braking ability, thermal resistance and efficiency is the word from Novak.
