I already made my own tracer system, this is V3. Mounts directly to axles (uses 1/4 rod for rear) and magnets to hold in place. This way I can have different diameter marking disks!

I'm looking for the M3 arm inserts for a NOS front end. If anyone has some they'd like to part with, please shoot me a message.

I have a bunch of that NOS stuff. I'd be into letting go of the whole pile if you're interested.

Thanks! Its been a process getting to this. At first the outside was printed at the same time and I had a bunch of complete parts. I started with the magnet deal about 7 months ago and so far its been pretty decent. I just need stronger magnets to really dial it in. These are only 8mm dia x 1mm thick and mostly hold it in place and not really clamp too hard.

Hello, had a question regarding bodies. Would a SuperRad SR-07L or SR-05 be better for 13.5t on black carpet? The SR-07L is the low down-force version.

If you have to pick from only those two, I would say go with the SR-05. You don't really want a low downforce body for super stock on black carpet. With the corner entry speeds you're going to have an SR-07L is a bad idea. Heck, even for 17.5 on black carpet the SR-07L can be a nightmare if traction isn't up. If you're open to other options the SR-06 series is more suited to 13.5 cars. Mon-Tech M20 is a great option as well.

Went ahead and purchased the SR-06Y. Thanks for the suggestion.

Default Reactive caster

Question 1 - why have all of the latest 1/12th scale cars gone to the fixed kingpin non-reactive style front ends?
Question 2 - Can one of the suspension gurus out there please explain the effects of using reactive caster? I’m no expert, but it does seem to me like more caster would help the car be more stable while going straight and less caster under suspension loading would help to add steering in the corners. Is my logic correct? or am I missing something? If so please help me to understand.

Reactive caster faded from 1/12 scale pan cars because modern racing moved heavily toward high-grip carpet (CRC Black Carpet) tracks and ultra-precise static suspension systems. Racers found that dynamic, changing caster hindered predictability.
.
  1. Simpler Setup: Modern cars use fixed, static caster by easily adjusting shims on the upper arms. This provides consistent handling throughout an entire corner.
  2. High-Grip Surfaces: Reactive caster was originally popularized to make cars easier to drive in a straight line while still aggressive in corners. Modern 1/12 scale racing relies on high-traction, and high grip tires where straight-line stability is less of an issue, and mid-corner steering is paramount.
  3. Tweak-Free Performance: Link-style front ends and newer independent designs provide perfectly linear, bind-free steering without the suspension slop associated with older reactive caster blocks
