im new and have mgt lst ntc3...i can make them go stuf f like that...whenebver i have problem i come here...is there a way to go to a track and be trained...or someone to teach you....i have clue to be a beginner...im lost when i t comes to more than that...i want to learn what you really have to do as hop ups...how to tune engine..how to use the remote/stuff like that....i live in staten island...i think my nearest track is is nj

Badger people at your local track, ask at your local hobby store & there are even some excellent R/C books that will teach you everything from the engine to hop ups. Try Amazon, they have some good books on nitro cars. And yes, forums, just post any questions you might have, there are loads of people on here that definately know there stuff.

when i first started i knew nothing about "tuning",i went to the track and started racing i learned more about tuning and diagnosing a nitro motor at the track than anywhere else.

ask as many questions as possible,without being annoying but the most important is to watch THEN learn and again dont be afraid to ask if your stuck

ill like to thank everyone for there help...but when something goes wrong i want someone to be there to diagnose so i can learn...
prob 1...losi lst..doesnt stop no more..i think its the pads...seem very lose...
prob 2 mgt runs good...but stops on dime..like breaks holding back...tried loosening...im a more hands on person...like you show me i get it...im not so good with understanding the way books explain things...most get tech..i need easy friend way of explanantion...i read the books..when i got to stores lhs they charge a pretty penny to se ewhats going on...i dont have tracks here..u people here have been very patient with me...sometime i feel like shoving truck through screen and go look help me fix...

In your case, you need to join a local club that races MT's. That way you'll get 'hand's on' experience of racecraft and wrenching. Someone at the club will be willing to help you learn.

Forums are great also, but I appreciate that not everyone finds reading technical issues on these threads easy to understand. But you should still learn to use the forums to the best of your ability. They're a great source of tech info, up to the minute news and specialist reviews.

Reading tech stuff alone is no substitute for actual experience - remember that the next time you find it difficult to read a technical article! What you'll find is that as your mechanical skills improve, so too will your communication skills.
