Default Hey guys, got a question here......

What wind 540 sized motor can an EVX handle? All the ratings are for 550 motors, but I don't wanna use 'em.

Thanks, Matt

Well if you want to put a single 540 on it with 12 cells it should be able to handle deep into the modified range. The Titan's are 23 turns, and the Monster 550's from Trinity are either 19, 17, 0r 15 I think. It should handle a pair of 550 17's alright.

That is a lot of cells for the wind you probably want to run. Might I ask what the Hell you need to run a 540 motor on that many cells for? Your not trying to beat our Bolink Dragster are you?

Just kidding, hope this helps anyway!

I'm thinking 25 ft. of vertical flight............

Not really, that would be sweet though. I just wanted to know what this thing could take, so that I can choose accordingly. I don't wanna bother with 550's, cuz everything I have is set up for 540's(lathe, motor bags, etc.). I am sure that I won't go much below the 14T mark regardless, but I'd like to know what my range is- if I can run a single 10T, then cool, but I probably won't try it.......

The current handling is good to run a motor like that. Ask Novak, although they may not want to tell you up front, they may give you some off the books specs on the EVX.

Another option is the Novak Super Rooster which can hanlde not only one 10-Turn, but a couple. The Novak 828 isn't bad either, but that's mainly for drag racing and can handle a buttload of cells.

Is the 828 still produced? I remember the 828, Novak used to name their esc's by what they could handle- 828 meant 8-28 cells, 410 meant 4-10 cells, etc.

I'll give Novak a ring, see what they say......
