You ran the 8 turn right?

If so, then try to gear it like a 10 turn motor depending on the size of the track.
Also the esc has alot of effect on the performance too, you gotta set the right amount of timing for the motor or it does'nt go anywhere as good.

Yes it was the 8...My gearing was similar to my 10x3 gearing...

and the speedo is an issue because, we don't have the instructions for it, but a copy is on route. Some model speedos do allow for timming changes so i hope the one we have does.

Did you figure out which model esc you've got?

I've played around with a few different ones now, and they can be a real headache sorting out all the beeps

the one i have does not beep!???

i know it's a 60 amp continuous model, no model number on it. Looks just like the one in the current issue of Racing Lines, installed in a TC3.

the one i have does not beep!???
Thats odd, every one that i've tested beeps on startup. The pics of the one in my tc3 for racing lines is a schulze. and it should definitely beep at least once on start up.

does anyone know any RC shops selling brushless ESC here in brisbane???

or rather any RC shops within a 5km radius of the brisbane city???

Get your LHS to contact Perth R/C models & hobbies, they can supply your LHS with brushless motors & esc.
