I just recently discovered LC and ordered my first kit (EMB-T). Went through everything tonight and I’m blow away at the quality. Feels like I’m working with a similar quality as my high end AE and other race rigs. Super excited. I’ll be reading all of the posts now LOL. I’m pretty sure a buggy is in my future, fingers crossed for Black Friday deals!

Yea that one is on my list too! I think I'll go 4WD since I have a mini-b, but I'm pretty sure that will be the 3rd car. I'm almost done with the truggy build, should have it finished up this week if work allows. Overall was a fun, straightforward build and I'm still impressed with what you get. Only thing I did differently was I shimmed the rear carbon shock tower as it isn't bent like the alloy one you get with the kit. Pretty simple to do. I also got the roller so I ended up fitting a Hobbywing Justock and the HW sensored 2848 4kv motor, which I think will work great.

Thanks, I ordered an EMB-1 roller from them yesterday and picked up a couple of those shims and some "spare parts". Their approach was similar to mine that I made out of a thin piece of phenolic, but saves me the labor!

Overall I'm super happy with the Truggy on my home carpet track. It jumps well, handles the corners beautifully and overall it's a high quality mini RC. I opted for the HW 2848 4Kv motor and Justock ESC with an 18T pinion. If feels pretty good. About the only thing I did was shim the diffs and the steering (carriers, knuckles, etc). A bag of M3x5 and M4x6 shims (0.1 -> 0.3 depending) did the trick. The steering is nice and tight. Just a little play but not any more than my AE race rigs and a little play is good.

I did the hobbywing 10bl 120am esc, and same 2848 motor, its ballistic, i have it down to like 73% for throttle., lol, getting the slipper right took a min as well as the brake percentage. LOL the miniy 1/10 truggy and 1/8 guys are like, Damnnn that thing is fast. lol

I noticed that Furitek released a Scorpion Pro (ESC and Motor). Wondering how well it would perform in an EMB?

I have the non-pro scorpion in a Losi NASCAR and it's super awesome.

Get the HD arms. Factory are flimsy AF, causing bent axles. HD arms remedy this. You can also run Associated axles w/minimal modification-but the arms still need to be upgraded to the HD units imo.

one thing with the HD a-arms is that they include harder inserts. if you can get the more rubber inserts for the hingepin mounts, that little bit of flex helpled with durabilitity of the axles and hingepins.

These days what hardcase lipo options are out there that fit the platform?

Thats a good point.. I just haven’t seen any issues of continuously bending driveshafts after making the switch.. I’m assuming you’re asking about 2s hard case stuff, yeah?

Yeah the bending of stuff stopped but you hit hard enough you snapped pins more. The rubber inserts seemd to cure that.

Yeah 2S hardcase stuff. At one point intellect had a lipo with bullets and AE copied it I think with a wolfpack that had bullets too, gave it a nice "race" effect. but I dont' know what now is current. I wouldn't mind grabbing another car to run at this one place that is doing mini's to support them and th emore open mini class they are willing to do. Outside of that then its just losi's they are looking to run. having had both, the LC is just that good.

Copy that. I buy hardened tool steel, or drill rod from MCS, and make all my own hingepins for everything I own. From Tekno (SUPER tough arms, and also use steel sleeves, so this has been a GOD SEND on them in particular), to Associated, and of course the LC Racing stuff..

As far as batteries go-I wasn’t able to comment as I’m currently doing the very same homework that you are. I run Tekin Graphene HV packs in all of my 1/8 electrics, and don’t believe they offer anything that’d work in an LC Racing truggy without looking like a pair of homemade shoes..😅

ill keep you updated here as to what I find though-just really would’ve liked to stay Tekin with everything..🤷🏻‍♂️
