Been running the updated Ride USGT tires. They’re more consistent and have better wear.

Well, Ride is the manufacturer of the USGT spec tire.. so I’d assume once gravity goes through their current inventory, perhaps their next lot will be this new version. 🤔 can’t imagine they will continue to produce the old version but I could be wrong

I wonder if they're better than the Xpress tyres we've been trying out in our USGT (Scale Spec) class.
We tried out the Xpress tyres out the last club race I went to. They were miles better than the grey belted tyres. Instead of me using a bit of understeer to keep the car on the track, I ended up finding out they developed a boatload more grip.

So you are saying that right now they are not legal. But later they might be legal or you could be wrong. OK.

Yeah, the grey rimmed belted tyres did feel like they were slightly plasticky, and they slipped like plastic on the CRC carpet. I managed to exceed their level of grip on a regular basis. On asphalt, they were an absolute dog. Once I bolted on the xpress tires with no change in setup for our indoor season, the car felt completely different. It had a much more planted feel to it. I was grinning like I won the lottery.
The non-belted usgt tires have been great outdoors forever, also not sharing any relatable experiences here. Belted tires were tried by hpi and a few others before(late 90s-early 2000s) and same results.....far less traction with almost no wear. I don't hear about people ripping through the belted tires in 3 runs so I'm gonna assume wear hasn't been an issue. Any carpet racers to confirm this?
