I still have yet to receive an email about sending my motors in. Anyone else not heard from them yet?

What is the turn around time of the certified motors? It has been a couple of weeks for me.

Good question, I'm curious also.

Would be great to hear from someone that got their SM2 already, and had experience with the first one before sending it in.

cant really compare the teo as the standard you thought of the SM1 was with the illegal motor and the SM2 performance no mater what it turns out to be will fall short if it it truly would legally now.

Not all of the SM1 motors were illegal.

true but I guarantee that 90% of the racers sending them in don’t know if there’s were legal or not. Just sending them in for the free swap. Just setting real expectations before we hear this isn’t as fast as my version 1.

I’ve had my replacement slot machine at the track twice as of yesterday. 13.5 in a 22t on clay. At 40 degrees timing it might be slightly less torque than the original at the same timing but close enough to be hard to tell. I’ll need more time to dial it in but I’m happy with it so far. It also seems to have an exchange program specific serial number etched on the flat of the driveshaft. The fit and finish of the new motor seems a little nicer as well.

I tried it and it doesn't feel as strong as the original. The torque and speed is just not there, just feels slower in my opinion. So, if I turned up the timing for the 40 that it came with, then i'd be losing even more torque!

That all sounds pretty disheartening. Trade in an expensive motor for one that is noticeably weaker.

Well,
I guess we all should have seen it coming. Whenever a mediocre racing company buys a high-performance company, they weaken the performance company's products. I guess we'll have to wait and see what they end up doing with a completely new design.
