Yes, it's off road. I am aware of the on road rules. They should apply for off road also.

Ok... I finally around to doing a Load comparison and dyno comparison between the 2 motors. SlotMachine 21.5 Certified and SlotMachine2 21.5. I used the same rotor in both motors for the tests. For the Load test I used my Load Master and for the Dyno test I used a MiniPro Dyno with the V3 board. I'm not really a fan of the V3 board, but it is what I have. Also I used a Modified HP server supply set to 7.2V to run the Dyno test for consistency.
Interesting to note. Even though the motors looked the same on paper, once a load was put on the motors you could definitely see a difference. The Slot Machine 2 is down in power and torque compared to the OG Slot Machine. I did mess up the graphs on the OG by using MPH instead of RPM, but the curves are the same because it is a function of the revs of the motor. MPH doesn't quite calculate correctly since I wasn't using the roller.
Anyway, here are the files.

they should apply everywhere but I’ve seen race directors not wanting to push people away so they allow it. Once someone complains others may follw so they will be forced to enforce the rules. Hopefully they do it before racers go somewhere else or leave the hobby all together.

That would work where tracks are more popular. I have seen tracks completely ignore the complaints. My daughter raced in the novice class. There was another kid racing his dads 13.5 wheeler in the same class. He was flying down the straight so fast that he broke the rear bulkhead of my daughter's truck when he hit it. I complained to the track owner about it, and he just said "well, that's novice." I responded with "Your rules state novice can only run 17.5 motors and you can clearly tell that kid was not running a 17.5." His response was "well, we can't control everyone." I saw the owner tell the father about it, then they just looked our direction, and the dad shrugged his shoulders, then they both grinned about it. They then allowed the kid to continue to race his dad's wheeler with the 13.5 motor.
That was the last time I raced there. I was then told there was issues like that there. The owner only catered to his buddies and shunned any complaints towards them. It is now shut down.

I got to run my team spec Slot machine ll this weekend. I think it's better than the one I sent in. It ran cool and had overall pretty good performance. It's not the best motor I have so I will probably end up selling it. The track I race needs a little more of a torque motor. My surpass rocket V6 has a little more grunt than this motor and I prefer it on my track.

I sent back three motors today, all Team Spec (13.5, 17.5 and 21.5). Hoping they just take off the two ends, remove the rotor w/ shims, and then install in a new Slot Machine 2 Can/Stator. Then send them back to me. Holding on to the Certified Team Plus 25.5 until I get another email asking for the Certified motors back.
Before I shipped them, I put all three on my HobbyWing Tunalyser to take a picture of the readings, then disassembled each and took a picture of the rotor numbers on my rotor checker. Will check the new motors when I get them back to see if they have my old rotors and sensor boards.

I received my motors back from Horizon on Saturday. It appears like they just swapped the stators like I had hoped. Will throw these on my Tunalyser again to see how they look as well as re-check all the rotors to see if they match the numbers before I sent them in. More to come ...
I re-checked the three "Team Spec" motors I sent in that Horizon sent back with the updated Slot Machine2 stators.
GOOD NEWS!!!
As I had suspected, they took apart the three motors and only swapped out the stators. So all three motors had the same end-caps, sensor boards, shims and rotors. The purple end cap is actually only labeled "Slot Machine" and not "Slot Machine2". This makes sense as this would be the most cost effective way for Horizon to make the motors legal by only swapping out the illegal part (the stator). The numbers on the rotors tested nearly identical to when I tested them before sending in. Any very very slight variances (like 1697 versus 1699) are likely due to the temp of the rotors when tested. Unfortunately I didn't have an inductance meter to test the old stators versus the new. They sent the motors back in the same original Slot Machine boxes that had the inductance numbers listed on them due to these being "Team Spec" motors, so I will borrow my buddies inductance meter to check these new stators. I still have a "Certified Team Plus" 25.5 that I did not send in yet. Not sure if they are sending out separate emails for the certified motors, but if I don't receive anything within the next few weeks, I'll just use the same form I used for these and mail it to the same address as I have seen a few of you guys post on here that they had their certified motors sent in and received back.
