Looking for some advice. Setting up XTE for general running and small track. XTE comes with 48T spur gear. Losi manual says 16,17 or 18 tooth pinion. Seems a little high to me.

Running a Hobbywing 4274 2250KV motor. Apparently a 15 tooth pinion does not mesh well with the 48T spur. I have seen some switch the spur to a 50T and run a 15T pinion.

My question is do you think a 13T pinion would work well with the 48T spur gear? or should I just go with a 16 as per LOSI manual. I want low end torque not top end speed as I will be running at a small track. Any suggestions would be helpful. Appreciated.
