Default Visual heat flow in cooling heads.

Although I bought myself a simple heat cam I could borrow a high resolution cam. It would be interesting to see the heat transfer in my own made heads with vertical fins and a standard head with horizontal fins. Both heads were placed on the same idling engine, outside with almost no wind. It was good to see that my head takes up the heat much better all over the whole head.

Other info, both heads have a same weight and so volume. The normal head has thinner fins and with that a bigger surface.

But my head and engine crankcase ending up with a slight higher temp makes room for some thinking and discussion....

A next time I need to do a cooling test using a fan.....
