Default how do I go 4ws without breaking the bank?

hello.

so my losi lmt has arrived and I want to get 4 wheel steering on it and there are some tutorials including one by kevin talbot however from his video he
mentions listing the remote needed and its about 300£ or so. surely there's got to be some other controllers that will do the same thing?

cheers

Do you need them to operate independently? IE crab walk or lock the rear at some point. If not you can just use a y harness and if needed reverse one of them.

You will need a 4+ channel radio and another servo. One channel to control rear Sero other to switch type steeling I use a box 5channel radio and have a switch to turn on 4wd only.

Of the budget radio systems out there, I would consider Radiolink fairly decent which offers the gambit of crawler functions:

The following review is on an older version but should give you an idea of the quality and basic operations where the newer versions offer a few more features:

I won't need any of that.

You don't need that then your stuck with a 2-3 channel radio with a "y"' harness with a reverser and another servo. WOW! Good for you. The OP wants independent 4ws and you need a 4 channel radio or more + another servo for steering.

I just put independent 4ws on my 2021 Kyosho usa-1 nitro and I had to use Hitec lynx 4s radio. One button and I can turn on/off 4ws.

Tell that to the OP…. Not me. 🙄 If you bothered to read you would have known that I was asking IF he needed independent control. But I forgot you don’t need to read you all ready know everything with your what 300 rc cars and 700 nitro engines… or what ever it’s up to now 😂
petersen114 and Roelof like this.

Well, but the OP did answer you that he wanted independent control so he could both crab walk and for tighter turns...

Yes OP did after I gave the cheapest option ... However HeWhoIsMostKnowledgable told me what I needed. Which first of all, I'm not building a monster truck and if I was it wouldn't matter because I buy expensive equipment to begin with. Second of all I very clearly said what was needed IF they didn't need independent control. I recommended this because the OP is trying to reduce cost.

No way to go cheap.....
You also need to replace the rear axle for a steering one:

REAR STEER for My Losi LMT! | 4x4x4 RC Monster Truck | LVC RC - YouTube

A list of needs is under the video.

(Sometimes a bit of google can give many better answers....)

I doubt he was really talking to you, even though he quoted you. The "you need" form he used was IMO more the "one needs" version. I get why you are irritated by the guy's "I know everything better" attitude, but I think you're letting your animosity towards him clouding your judgement a little here.

I guess I am just sick of people not knowing how to use a forum. This is the second time in like a week that someone quoted me responding to someone else.
